The CB-40D Ballhead with QP-144750 Release Plate from Feisol is a lighter weight ballhead that inherits the two-locking-system design of previous Fiesol ballhead models. There's one system to lock the ballhead sphere, and a second to lock the base plate for even greater stability. This allows for the added capability of rotating the base plate while maintaining a locked sphere. And the CB-40D is lighter and more compact than its predecessors. It also includes an integrated Panning Base. The CB-40D can be used as a lightweight alternative for heavy-duty tripods, or as a more heavy-duty ballhead option for lighter traveler's tripods. The quick release system is Arca-Swiss compatible.
- Ballhead with 33 lb Capacity

FEISOL CB-40D Reviews
Sturdy
This ball head is very sturdy. Can easily handle a full frame DSLR and any of my lenses. It is still small enough to allow tripod legs to fold back over it although they are not folded all the way in as far as they could be. A great head.
Not for panorama!
Be careful before you purchase this. There's no bubble level. That's sold separately. Also there's no accessory for panoramic photos to eliminate parallax effect from this company. Hence, I now regret buying this brand's products. Other than that, built quality is sturdy enough. Handled my abuse pretty well (Beaches, rock climbings, extreme hikings..etc). I use it with CT-3342. People say it's light but I disagree. (BTW this tripod will not fit in your backpack). Overall if you are an average photographer I can suggest it. However if you are thinking to use it for real estate, panoramas..etc, look somewhere else.
