The PB-70 Horizontal Adapter by FEISOL converts your FEISOL Classic or Tournament tripod for horizontal use such as when shooting portraits, product shots, macro photography and copy stand shooting. The horizontal adapter requires a 1.2" diameter column for use, such as a FEISOL CT-3401.

Will this attach to the MeFoto road trip tripod? I don't see how to attach it to that kind of tripod. Thanks.
It will attach but it only works with Feisol center columns. It does come as a kit with the column, B&H # FEPB70HAKIT MFR # PB-70HA KITTo attach to your tripod you need to take the head off the MeFoto tripod and then the adapter screws in to the top of the tripod.Another brand that is similar is by Manfrotto the 131D Lateral Side Arm for Tripods (Black) and it works the same way.

Will this adapter attach to a regular tripod in the same way a camera attaches to the top of the tripod via a male top screw that screws into the bottom of the camera?
The PB-70HA will directly attach to a standard tripod much like a ball head would - via a 3/8 mount.

Yes, that should work - all connections are standard.
