The For.A HVS-4000 Video Switcher with 2.5 M/E 24-Button Control Panel is a multi-format video switcher paired with a 3-line, 24-button control panel, both part of the HVS-4000 system. The control panel is made for direct access to preset content and features one macro button and one event recall button for each M/E. The switcher has 16 SDI inputs and 16 SDI outputs supporting up to 1.5 Gbps and 1080/59.94i/50i in HD mode. Processing is at 4:2:2:4, 10-bit. Power supply is redundant. The control panel is one of four For.A control panels that the switcher can be paired with. The other three are 2 M/E16, 2 M/E24, and 3 M/E24 types. A GUI software and an upgrade board are also included.
The switcher can additionally expand to many more HVS-4000 components to support wider applications. The 16 standard inputs can optionally be increased to 48 (in sets of 16) and the outputs to 24, all also supporting 1.5 Gbps. An up/down/cross converter can be added to scale up to four channels to 1080/59.94i/50i. (The converter scales resolutions but not frame rates.) A DSK dedicated to the AUX bus can be added to enable superimposing on each AUX output. Still stores can be upgraded to 12 from the standard six. Multi-viewer configurations can be upgraded from the standard 4/10/16 multi-viewer. Many more additions can be made. They're all described below.
The included functions consist of Macro, Sequence, and Event Memory. The Macro function enables recording and playing back complex operating procedures at the push of just one button, allowing you to easily register a series of operations and then perform complicated operations. For example, you could send a play command to a VTR, then switch to the VTR channel after waiting a set amount of time before playback begins. The Sequence function allows you to register changes in parameters as a sequence. By using optional GUI software, a timeline can be displayed, allowing easy corrections or changes. Event Memory can register all types of parameter settings. Up to 20 sequences and 200 events can be registered.
Maximum 48 Inputs and 24 Outputs
16 HD/SD-SDI inputs and 16 HD/SD-SDI outputs come standard. The 16 inputs can be increased to 48 (in sets of 16) and the outputs to 24. A side panel and safety marker can be added to the AUX output.
With a frame synchronizer, up to four channels of asynchronous video can be input as is. (The converter does not scale frame rates.)
Up to 18 Keyers
The switcher comes standard with 4 keyers for each M/E. Eight keyers are standard on the 2 M/E model, 11 keyers are standard on the 2.5 M/E model and 12 keyers on the 3 M/E model (P/P line has 3 keyers). Two keyers can optionally be added to each M/E. You expand to up to 12 keyers on the 2 M/E model, 15 keyers on the 2.5 M/E model and 18 keyers on the 3 M/E model.
AUX Bus Dedicated DSK
You can add a dedicated DSK to the AUX bus and be able to do superimposing on each AUX output.
An independent combiner function can be added beside the M/E function. The combiner function can be used by installing the switcher in the stage prior to the M/E process and adding DVE to the input signals in order to provide multiple P-in-P video via a single channel (pre-combiner function). The combiner function can also be used by installing the switcher in the stage subsequent to the M/E process and using it for CG composition (L-shaped left side and bottom screen).
Maximum 12-Channel Still Stores
Six still stores (Global Still) that can be selected for all buses come standard. Up to eight still stores can be expanded to. Moreover, four more dedicated still stores (Local Still) can be added in each M/E, bringing the number of still stores to a total of 12. Also available is a logo animation function that loops a succession of still images into a motion logo.
A 4/10/16-way multi-viewer comes standard. Two multi-viewer modes are available: one multi-viewer channel for the 10- or 16-way mode and two multi-viewer channels for quad mode. A multi-viewer function with one channel for 10-way mode or a function with two channels for quad mode can be added as an option.
2.5D DVEs and 3D DVEs can be added simultaneously. Up to six channels can be added to the 2.5D DVE, and up to eight channels (in 2-channel units) can be added to the 3D DVE. A total of up to 14 channels of DVEs can be added. All DVEs can process V+K on one channel. The number of channels does not decrease even when the flying key effect is used. The switcher has adopted a conventional built-in DVE system (LINE DVE) for four channels and external DVE system for the remaining four channels, making possible advanced 3D DVE video to be selected as a single body of material from multiple buses. (3D DVEs use the same architecture as in the HVS-5000 series switcher.)
DVEs can be applied to each bus for enabling transitions for the image using wipe or mix, facilitating the setting of P-in-P and other effects.
