FUJIFILM EF-X20 Reviews
Not Perfect but highly recommended
The good - reasonable output in a small size, well built. The great - single large control dial for compensation and/or power setting. The bad - long recycle time. 2 AA's just don't have the horsepower for fast recycle. A fair trade off. Wish it had a bounce but understandable given the form factor. Probably not the best choice if you only want one flash unit but incredibly useful for certain situations. Slave mode is a nice touch. Have used for years, will keep for years more. Best use daylight fill for casual shots, studio fill. Expensive but given the build quality you get what you pay for.
Nice
A great piece of equipment to have.
Compact Power
Pretty small and powerful, I use it on a Leica Q with Lightpix Labs wireless transmitter and the whole set up works great.
Good / Not Great
OK - I got this as a cheap - light weight filler. It works great for that. But i will be buying a full fledge flash soon.
Better than camera flash
Good out to about 20-feet.
Small, simple, sturdy
Simple to use, works well in manual or TTL mode. Very basic but does its job really well, tiny so you won't really notice adding it to your bag permanently.
Always carry it with me
This flash is incredible. The only downside is you have to keep a ton of batteries in your bag (so much for the space savings) but it's worth it! The flash isn't in your face, clients love it, and it's really useful off camera with one of the canon TTL cords in hand or using a flash bracket. This is a must if you use anything else on top of your built in lens when using the x100 series cameras, since the on camera flash with cast a nasty shadow. Well worth it, have been loving it for years and years.
Sleek, but slow to charge and power hungry
The flash looks great on my X100V and exposures come out looking nice. However, the flash takes a pretty long time to charge up, and eats through the two AAA batteries extremely quickly.
