Content to learn that B&H carried the Canon LP-E4N Battery Pack which I purchased immediately. My original battery pack for my Canon 1D Mark IV had gone dead. Charged it upon arrival and used it immediately without any issues. Thank you B&H.

Can I charge this battery with the charge from my Eos 1 D Mark IV?

Yes, you can but not to its peak capacity. Canon acknowledged that, (just look on the internet for Canon's clarification). So, there will be miscommunication between your camera and the remaining charge in your battery. and as a result your camera will give you less accurate readings.

Yes indeed. Every LP-E4N Battery I have comes with a gold label on the top of the battery that is not showing on the image in the question.

Because the warranty period is only 90 days I suspect that the battery, while "new", is old stock. Lithium batteries do have a shelf life over which they lose full charge capacity; I wonder how old the battery is and how degraded its charge capacity might be. B&H: can you tell me how old the battery actually is?
