The Sony ECM-MS2 Stereo Electret Condenser Microphone is designed for mounting on professional camcorders equipped with 2 XLR inputs and phantom powering. The microphone also delivers good sound performance in field and studio-production applications. The MS microphone signal of the ECM-MS2 microphone is internally decoded, and provides L and R (stereo) outputs. The MS2 stereo microphone also supports mono operation by simply unplugging the right channel (disabling phantom power from the right channel XLR connector).

Sony ECM-MS2 Reviews
Mono or Stereo
Nice Microphone. Not quite a shotgun, but close. Being Unidirectional gives it shotgun like sound. It's not super cardiod, but very usefull as a directional Mic. It's a Stereo Mic if you use both XLR connectors. More filling sound in this mode and still directional. Very good for hall type events in this stereo mode. I use it for sports also as a shotgun Mic. Works well.
Sony ECM-MS2 Stereo Electret
Purchased this as a drop in stereo upgrade to my Sony XLR-K1M monauralmicrophone. Works great, excellent separation. This microphone should have been the obe included in the K1M kit in the first place, considering the high price of the K1M kit.
Excellent Addition to The FX3 Cine Camera
Got mine today. It is compact and fits perfectly to the Sony FX3 handgrip's mike holder. The sound quality is great. If you want a stereo mike with XLR connection, this is the one to go for.
It works good
I find no fault with a microphone at all.
Hooked this up on an NX100. Great sound and much better than the built in mic. It’s small and light. Works perfect for my on camera audio needs.
I have two of these mics. Perfect Mics.
Nice little shotgun
The sound quality is great. If you want a stereo mike with XLR connection, this is the one to go for.
Great on board sound
Impressive little mic this. Does a great job for run and gun filming when you need to capture decent audio without a dedicated off-cam solution.
