Nikon 26273B Overview

  • 1Description

The Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Silver) is a slick little camera that packs more lens than you'd expect from its compact frame. Featuring a 10x wide-angle zoom lens (25-250mm 35mm equivalent), the S6200 employs a 16MP CCD sensor to capture crisp, beautiful high-res images. The camera also lets you record 720p HD video with a single touch. View captured movies and images on the bright 2.7" LCD screen. Or using the HDMI mini connector, you can instantly play back from your S6200 to your compatible HDTV.

The S6200's Four-way Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization helps banish blurry pictures. Sensitivity up to 3200 ISO lets you keep shooting even when it gets dark. Subject Tracking Autofocus function lets you lock onto a moving subject to keep it in focus at all times. A Best Shot Selector mode quickly and automatically takes 10 shots in low light, and selects the sharpest image as a keeper.

The Smart Portrait System makes every person you photograph look good, by automatically capturing a smile, warning you when someone blinks in a picture, automatically correcting red-eye, and smoothing out wrinkles and blemishes on faces. A full set of in-camera effects gives your creativity free play as you adjust images for viewing during playback.

The S6200 offers 20 scene modes, including Pet Portrait, Night Landscape, Sports, Party/Indoor, Sunset, and lots more. Taking the guesswork out of the equation, a Scene Auto Selector chooses the optimal mode for your specific shooting conditions at any given moment. Encased in a slim, petite body, the S6200 packs a powerful punch for just about any shooting situation.

    Nikon 26273B Reviews

Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Silver) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Camera Im a semi pro photographer. Bought this for my wife. Works well overall. Wish the sharpness was a little bit crisper. Used to use an old Nikon 3200. (3 mp camera) It took great shots. This new camera comes close but not quite as sharp. Weird. The ergonomics of the camera are nice. The color accuracy is good. And the pink color of the model we bought actually looks very good in person. : )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great point and shoot This is the coolest little point ans shoot camera I've found. I bought one to give as a Christmas gift and was so impressed with it, I bought my own. It's fast respose and has easy to use icons that make sense rather than the icons used on Canon's which are confusing. I've been a working pro for 32 years and I love this camera. It has a big screen, bright image and great image quality. Its fun and sharp looking. Not for pro use but for me,its a gas to use it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shutter lag is HORRIBLE This camera will not focus quickly and you miss the shot. If you have 15 seconds to wait for the shutter to go off, then it's great! Pretty body, nice images.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Camera...I think? No printed instr Seems to be easy to use. However, figuring out how to use all features is difficult due to no printed documentation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I recieved my new camera about 2 weeks ago and so far LOVE it. The quality is great, love that it is small and can fit easily into my purse or pocket. The picture quality and zoom are amazing. My experience with B&H was great as well. Quick and easy!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from neat! In addition to my DSLR, I thought i'd like a little snappy to travel with. Am delighted with my purchase. Nice handling, nice features, nice images. Do miss the viewfinder, but for the price, will have to adjust. The battery life is not as good as i had hoped, but I am advised that the little batteries for these little cameras need to be charged more than do the DSLRs. I bought it used, but am always comfortable buying used equipment from B&H. I just have to keep in mind that it's what it is: a small, convenient camera that takes really nice pictures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera I got this to keep in the car so I didn't have to carry an expensive Nikon DSLR. I was wxpecting the Nikon quality and sharp, colorful, excellently exposed photos. I didn't get that. When I used the ISO 100 setting the photos were fine but things over 10 feet were not exposed when I used the flash. The flash is very weak and can't utilize the ISO 100 setting apparently. When I used auto ISO I got popcorn looking photos though the exposure was better. I was expecting something completely different. When you zoom to long shots, the flash also is very weak. I thought most people need the flash to expose their families at some distance. I would never buy this again. The shipping by B&H was very fast and packed very well. Nikon's fault, not B&H.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An improvement over its predecessor, in I routinely use two Nikon full size SLR bodies, however, there are times when the point and shoot makes more sense, for some regions of the world where I don't want to walk around with an SLR and when sticking it in small spaces for the work I do. The video mode is also pretty darn good. So, the 6200 is an add on camera but a work horse as well. I purchased this camera to replace a S700, I broke the screen, which worked very well for three years. It's slightly bigger. The 6200's controls are also slightly easier to use, more positive feeling and the button to activate the video camera is a welcomed addition. And, the 10x zoom is also a welcomed upgrade. The on off button is harder to activate, which is a good thing. The battery is larger and lasts longer, a definite improvement. The fact that it does not come with a proper charger is disappointing, you have to plug the camera in to charge the battery, which is silly, especially if you keep multiple batteries, and a clear cost saving measure on Nikon's part. I purchased an MH65 charger for $20. Also, the macro capabilities do not seem to be quite as good as the S700. All up, however, it's a very nice little camera.
