Sensei CK-LP overview

The Cap Keeper Plus Lens Cap Holder from Sensei prevents the loss of lens caps. An adhesive-backed disc secures the lens cap to the elastic leash which wraps around the lens barrel. With the lens cap removed from the lens while shooting, it hangs out of the way but secure and within reach for easy retrieval. The Cap Keeper Plus is made with tough and extremely secure elastic.

Cap Keeper Plus Lens Cap Holder is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 478.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Handy but somewhat aggravating I bought this after seeing another photographer with one on her lens cap. As I am always stuffing my lens cap in my pocket, then searching my pockets to find it later I thought this would be a great idea. It did exactly what it says it does, but I found myself replacing the lens cap between shots because when I moved around the lens cap would dangle and click against the camera. (FYI, I wasn't using a regular neck strap on my camera but was using a Black Rapid RS-W1 across the body strap). I missed some shots because by the time I removed the lens caps and focused the shot was gone. I think I'll just keep putting my lens cap in my pocket. Good idea for a product though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cap Keeper OR Cap Keeper Plus??? I've been buying these for forty years. I was surprised to find 2 grades of Sensei Cap Keepers listed at B&H. I went for broke and ordered both. Cap Keeper Plus uses a heavier grade of elastic, a heavier cable, and it has a neat, plastic connector where cable and elastic join. The plebian grade joins eleastic to cablewith a metal staple, just as secure, no rough edges, but a bit raw. Also, the Plus version has a smaller S on the button that affixes it to the lens cap. As to effectiveness, in 40 years I've never had one that stayed stuck with the supplied adhesive. After the first lost lens cap, good epoxy holds it tight. CONCLUSION: Plus costs $1 more. I don't think it works any better, but if you're fussy about such stuff, perhaps it's worth the $1. For me, having satisfied my curiosity, I'll save future bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price - perfect. Lost lens cap is no biggie. It can be replaced for about five bucks. The REAL benefit of this item is that with it, the cap is 100x more likely to go back on the lens rather than remain stuffed in a pocket/in the bag/on a shelf. And be there to protect your lens or expensive polarizer when the inevitable 'oops' comes. The elastic loop will fit most lens barrels snugly. Yes, it goes on the lens - NOT the 'camera strap'. Unless you only have one lens...I just wish they made a longer version for bigger lenses. On my 70-200/2.8, I have the elastic loop behind the focus ring, and replacing the cap when hood is on is a bit of a stretch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best $2.95 I ever spent So there i was half way across a foot bridge, high above the river below, with my Nikon and my tripod all set up for a long exposure shot of one of Colorado's incredible waterfalls. After taking numerous shots and feeling very satisfied with my photographic experience, it was time to pack up. I took my lense cap out of my pocket and snapped it back on the lense, well I thought I did. When I let go it popped right off, bounced a couple of time on the decking, and slid right through the boards to the river below. If only I had made the $2.95 investment earlier I would not have had to order a new lense cap along with Sensei Cap Keeper. I would highly recommend that everyone buy at least one of these for each lense in there camera bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cap Keeper Plus I have use a cap keeper for my lenses for many years. It keeps my lens cap safe and handy while taking photos and I usually return the lens cap following the photos to protect the lens. The elastic on my old one stretched out and needed replacement but I could not find the same brand so I thought I would go for the Cap Keeper Plus Lens Cap Holder (versus the lower cost version of same manufacturer) because the elastic looked stronger online and used a plastic clip that seemed more solid than the metal clip to join the elastic band. The elastic is a tight stretch around the camera lens and the plastic clip is 11/16 (nearly 3/4!) which sticks out from the lens when attached. A very big annoyance. Should have stayed with the metal clip design and saved some money as a bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple item that can save money and loss These cap holder (as the name implies) are designed to tether your cap to your lens, and the work well for this purpose. Losing a lens cap can be the difference between keeping your glass healthy and damaged. However, I bought this for a different purpose. After losing three or four Hoodman eyepieces on my 5D MKII because of my camera bumping against my side, it occurred to me that the Capkeeper would be an excellent way to keep from losing another. An added plus was not scratching my eyeglass lens while using the viewfinder without the Hoodman attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yep, it works! Works great on the nikon 18-200mm cap and the 35mm 1.8 cap, though there's not a lot of real estate on the 35mm cap to solidly stick this, but that is no fault of this device. And it stuck just fine and I have no fear of it along off. Just be sure to place the strap on so that when you use your camera vertically/portrait, the cap is hanging from the bottom of the lens and not dangling down from the top. (Ie, have the strap/string on the left side of the lens.) Solid construction, not flimsy or cheap at all. Exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the right lens and cap! This is perfect for a lens like my Pentax 35mm 2.8 Macro, which has a 49mm slip-on cap with a smooth surface for the adhesive to stick to, and a 2.5 diameter at the base of the lens (which lets the elastic band fit snugly, without being overly stretched). I can easily remove and replace the cap after every shot. So far no problems, but for caps that are large and heavy, and those with indented lettering and such, as well as fat lenses, I feel more secure using a Bower pinch cap, with a loop of Elastoma (a stretchy mono-filament) threaded through the small holes in the cap and the camera strap.
