Fantastic product

Fantastic and easy to use diffusion for 7' parabolic umbrellas. I purchased this diffusion after owning the silver lined 7' Westcott umbrella for the past 10 years. It's a game changer and brings new life to my already owned umbrella. It's great for diffusion when lighting large families and groups and much more portable and lighter than a softbox of similar size.

Nice if you want to get more diffusion out of your umbrellas. Of course, don't forget you loose about a stop of output from your strobes.

The Westcott Umbrella Diffuser beautifully modifies further an already beautiful modifier i.e., the 7' Umbrella--love, love love them both!

A great addition to my 7' umbrella. An excellent way to create a large, soft light (when appropriately distanced from subject) in a budget friendly and multi function package.

Great Umbrella Diffuser

This works well. I like to slip it on before fully opening the umbrella. Since the umbrella is 7ft it's much easier if you're by yourself to do it this way otherwise you'll be chasing loose corners that slip off. This diffuser doesn't have a super snug fit but given the flexibility in the fiberglass rods in the Wescott 7' umbrella I wouldn't expect it to. The center opening will fit a variety of lights and can easily close. No complaints.

I ordered this as well as the Westcott 7' White Diffusion Parabolic Umbrella to use with my Godox QS400II strobe! I shoot mostly babies and kids and together it gives such a perfect, soft, almost-natural, light that mimics a window! Just what I was hoping for! If you're looking for the same kind of light, I definitely recommend! You won't be disappointed! Shipping and delivery was super fast as well which was much appreciated!

After 8 years, my diffuser no longer had elastic to hold itself in place, the string fell out and it had gotten singed from my modeling light. I replaced it with this and tried it out, nice soft light. Fits perfectly. Love it!

Has anyone used two of these Westcott umbrella diffusers on the same umbrella for super soft, diffused light? I know that you lose about a stop of light per diffuser and that's not an issue. Thank you.
Asked by: Trevor
I have used the diffuser for my 7' umbrella. I can't show a sample, but I (as an amateur) was very pleased with the results. A professional shooter friend was very complimentary on the visual effect on my model's skin, very soft from the size and beautifully diffuse from the sock.

Could this be used on a Neewer 72" parabolic umbrella?
Asked by: Thomas
No experience with the Neewer but the fit on the Westcott is fairly generous so it should work. Best if you could get exact diameter of both brands to compare.

question

Will this work with a westcott triple threat speedlight adapter and three speedlights?
Asked by: David
Yes. It will work with any speedlight support of 3 speedlights. I ussually use it with the one that mounts directly on the shaft of the umbrella and requires another to support the umbrella on the stand. Also have a conventional 3 speedlights mount, but prefer the other because distributes the speedlights around.

question

Can I enclose the diffusion fabric around a 7 Reflector only keeping the strobe outside?
Asked by: JR
normally the diffuser fabric has a sock-like opening in the middle from which you insert only the bulb section of your flash unit - leaving the back end of the unit outside. If, for any reason you want to keep the entire module outside you could do it if you have a sturdy enough umbrella mount, but to what effect, I cannot comprehend.
