Love this little thing. Lets me run my TTL speedlights at 1/2 or 1/3 the power by running them together. A must at a wedding in my book for fast brolly fill. I was looking at the Lastolite tri flash but you couldn't turn the speedlights to get all the sensors facing the master, and the McNally version is 90$!! This does the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

Hotshoes are the weakpoint

I have an issue with the alignment of the hot-shoes, when fully screwed in to be secure, the hot-shoes do not point the same direction. This should of the been the first thing that was designed into this. One of them point the right way but the other two are off. and if I try and use the nut to tighten them in the correct direction they are not nearly tight enough.

This unit is pretty solid for what it is. I use it when I want more speed lights and a modifier or I want to share the same modifier with a second shooter at events. The cold shoes can be a little tricky to align with the way they are designed though, probably my only annoyance with it. The 1/4-20 hole is surprisingly sturdy, although I would not hang much weight off of something like that.

why go for another expensive triple flash adapter, when this is everything you need for less. This product is durable and reliable. It really exceeded my expectation.

I have tried Other Flash adapters for use with umbrellas. Now it I have the best made solution at a great price. It is made of precission high quality material that should last years. I can attach three speedlites and really get a super fast cycle time. Just dial back each of the three and you get a real high power pop with super fast recycle time. This is great to allow high speed shutter rates without over heating the speedlites. That makes this device a super bargain.

Sturdy Enough for speedlights and radios attached.

I have used this with a large umbrella, three sb 700s, and three radio receivers with no problems. I think if you over tightened things, you might have some of the issues other reviewers have mentioned. Worked fine for me!

Hi. The cold shoes and their attaching bolts are metal, but the body is plastic. If it was all metal, it would be pretty heavy. It is a handy unit, and does what it is designed to do.

Hi, what is the purpose of the optional spigot, as I would seem that it could not directly connect to a standard light stand as its a male (threaded) end?

This does connect directly to a 1/4-20 threaded lightstand. If your stands aren't threaded, use a spigot and umbrella bracket

That's right, Ming-Lun, though you are left with studs (male thread), not female threads.You can take the cold shoes off and replace them with better ones (such as Frio), or use the studs to attach something else.

You definitely do NOT want to use the sony multi-interface shoe with a cold shoe, because the sony shoe is plastic and will break when clamped.

Does It works with the Westcott 7-Feet Parabolic Umbrella?

I have used this with the 7' parabolic umbrella a few times, but did not feel confident using it. It flexed a lot with the weight of the umbrella and looked like it wouldn't last. I purchased an all metal one from a lighting supplier in Calgary, Alberta which has been much better.
