The 5.5x50 Recon 550 Digital NV Monocular from Pulsar is a digital night vision device using a CCD imaging sensor to capture infrared light reflected within the visual scene. The 5.5x optics are well-suited for mid-range tasks requiring moderate magnification while still preserving some situational awareness. A Weaver rail attached to the monocular housing is meant to accommodate accessories like a long-range IR illuminator or laser aiming device. An NTSC input-output port enables the transmitted image to be viewed and/or recorded on a remote monitor. Additionally, the monocular's color display can be used to view a video input source. The five-lens eyepiece, manual brightness adjustment wheel, and four display color modes make the Recon x550 a useful night vision monocular for low-light hunting and other recreational applications.
