    Music Hall usb-1 reviews

USB-1 USB Turntable is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good entry level turntable Overall I was satisfied with this product. The assembly was easy (I did not buy it for the USB aspect so I don't know if the transfer to digital was as easy), and the sound quality is very good. I replaced the felt mat with a rubber one which did improve the bass aspect of the sound. There is a speed variance with this product which others have noted. It does not seem to affect the sound of the record but it should be kept in mind for those who demand a truly constant platter speed. I had been using a YAMAHA P500 for many years and I would say that the Music Hall USB-1 is comparable. I personally do not mind that it is fully manual. Others however might prefer that the tone arm returns on its own at the end of the record.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good turntable This is a basic turntable in that it does not have automatic return or other features that more expensive models have. It does have a very good pitch adjustment that I use a good deal as each record seems to turn at a slightly different speed. Set up is simple, and I am pleased with both performance and sound. This is my first turntable in quite a few years, and I've owned less sophisticated and more sophisticated tables over the years, but this is a good way to get back into vinyl. The only negative I would mention is that at 3 grams the tone arm can be sensitive to any slight jarring of the base. Just be careful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Music Hall USB-1 I bought this turntable after a lot of searching online. I like it, but must say I'm still on the fence about it. I placed it on a bookshelf and whenever I walk by, the record skips. I know that it's recommended to place the turntable on a shelf, but I don't have that option. Not sure if it's because the turntable is also lightweight and doesn't have enough vibration padding in the feet. I was surprised at how lightweight the unit is. Considering returning it and buying the MM2, but that's twice the price.Aesthetically, it's a beautiful design, but I'm concerned about whether it will last long term. I like buying products once and having them for years, as opposed to upgrading every few years, which is why I would opt to spend a bit more $ for a more durably constructed turntable that pads against vibrations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Entry Level Music Hall USB-1 Turntable I haven't had a turntable in over thirty years. I found a collage of albums that I haven't played since then. I also wanted to be able to connect the turntable to either via USB, or Line-in on my computer. I did my homework and discovered the Music Hall USB-1 turntable. I really like it. The appearance is attractive, and the unit is sturdy. I hear deep bass, and the treble is crystal clear when playing through the Pre-amp, or the USB. I enjoy the fact that I am able to control the pitch and that is has an S designed tone arm. I don't have a problem with skipping when I walk by my player. Mini from Brooklyn (Reviewer), check your anti-skate level. It needs to be set at the same number as the stylus which happens to be 3g. I have only one gripe with this turntable. It is concerning the pitch. When I would place the slider to Zero, running at 33 1/3 speed, the (Dots) second row from the bottom on the platter would run clockwise, when in reality they should look as if they are floating and show little movement. I contacted Music Hall directly and asked for their advice. Come to find out, there are speed adjustments on the bottom of the unit. One for 33 1/3, and the other for 45 RPM. I prefer to see the dials themselves, so I removed the bottom to have clearer visual. After a few turns of a screwdriver, I was able to get the dots to perform the way I wanted. The problem is, to accomplish this, you have to remove the rubber belt, and platter, turn the unit upside down and make the necessary adjustments. Put the bottom back on, place the rubber band and platter back in place. Quite the work out. With other turntables, the pitch adjustment is under the platter.
