Enhance the quality of light coming from your on-camera flash with the OM-ET Omni-Bounce Diffuser from Sto-Fen. Designed for select flashes, this diffuser slides onto the flash head and will diffuse the light output, producing softer shadows and a more natural glow rather than the harsher effect created when using a direct flash. The diffuser also helps to provide even coverage across the entire frame which is especially useful for wide-angle shooting

OM-ET Omni-Bounce Diffuser is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Understand what bare bulb effect is Understand its strengths and limitations. Don't confuse it with a soft box, bounce card or simple diffuser, which directs light toward your subject. This acts like a bare bulb, meaning it sends light in every direction, including in back of you if you have the flash aimed up. Unless there are walls/ceilings close enough to bounce the light back to your subject, you're wasting a lot of light. Great for lighting an entire room, however. One way I use it is to place the flash in back of a my subject and aim it at the ceiling. (I use a separate flash(es) to light the subject from the front). Because it scatters light 360 degrees, it lights both the background and adds a rim light on my subject to separate them from the background. Great for wedding groups in a church, for example.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential modifier This is one of my first purchases when I get a new speedlight. I have always liked how the sto-fen diffusers fit and work. This one is a little tight. You can get it on and off without breaking anything if you be careful. Don't just rip it off! I hold the diffuser in one hand and the flash head in the other so not to put unnecessary strain on the elbow of the flash. It comes off fine. When putting it on just try to get it square with the flash and push evenly. Piece of cake. Don't read too much into this, it's not that tight.! I prefer a snug fit since I had one fall off another flash Iin Disney, never to be seen again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its a Diffuser I picked this up with a Canon 600EX-RT Speedlite, since the default pullout bounce card and diffuser isn't amazing. It does what its suppose to do. The only issue I have with it, is that it's semi-difficult to get on and off the flash. Once you put it on, it will definitely not fall off without assistance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Extremely tight fit Extremely snugged fit for Canon 600ex-rt. If anyone here upgraded from the Canon 580exII and had purchased a Sto-Fen Diffuser for that flasher, you would have probably give it a solid 5 because of it's performance and fit. However, the 600ex-rt diffuser, the performance is probably just as the same. But fit is probably a bit too snugged on the device. You'll probably require some force to remove the diffuser or you'll probably need to break it in for a while. I felt personal the diffuser was about to scratch the paint job right off, but luckily it wasnt that abrasive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit I am a big fan of these Omni-Bounce units ever since putting one atop a 430EX II flash. Even shooting straight on, the light is softer than a flash without the Sto-Fen. When using it in combination with bounching, the light it produces is nice and diffused. The only downside is that it eats some light and will require higher power to achieve the same output on the subject. This is not the fault of the product, but the nature of putting anything infront of the Speedlite. The fit for the 600EX is perfect. The unit is not so tight where it is a struggle to pull on and off, but snug enough to stay in place and not fall off in your bag or when shooting. An additional nice touch is the cut outs for the gel holder sensors on the bottom of the flash head. For the price you are paying versus the increase in flash usability, everyone should have one of these units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Assessory I use this for doing fill flash at events. Pointed up it send most of the light to the ceiling and give just enough light out the four sides to effectively light those areas that would be in shadow if only the bounced light from the ceiling were used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon's latest and greatest flash The 600EX-RT gains several advantages over its predecessor: greater zoom range (200mm is up from 105mm), a slightly higher guide number (60 is up from 58), a better hot shoe lock to ensure a solid connection at all times, improved durability, an included color filter holder, a new menu system and larger digital screen and best of all it receives a radio transmitter capable of at least 100 ft which can communicate settings, TTL information and achieve HSS at any shutter speed

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its better than nothing It aint great, but in some situations its better than a small bare flash bulb. It can help soften light by forcing it to bounce in many directions and come back on your subject from a larger surface (i.e. a white wall/ceiling) I am not sure why some people use this product outdoors when there are no walls to bounce the flash off.
