The 43mm Carl ZEISS T* UV Filter from ZEISS is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast effects are provided, rendering a clean and natural appearance.

A UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

The T* anti-reflective coating helps to reduce reflections on the filter's surface and promote a better light transmission for high quality imagery. The filter ring is designed with a slim profile to allow its use on wide angle lenses, but front filter threads are still available for the use of additional filters.

43mm Carl ZEISS T* UV Filter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality equal to the lens Remarkable quality. If you feel you need a UV filter, this is the one. I don't make a habit of using one. Typically, I'll put it on when I'm headed into an area that's got a lot of environmental challenges (city, beach, hiking...) and feel I may want to add a bit of protection. Let me say, there's ZERO impact to all aspects of picture quality. NO detectable change in sharpness, color or anything...and I use it on both a film and digital camera (M6 and M8). Construction is exceptional as well. Oh, and the case...top notch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When your filter has to say Zeiss to match your lens Normally I buy B+W MRC UV filters for all of my lenses. In this case I made an exception. I bought a limited production Zeiss Sonnar 50mm f/1.5 in Nikon S (rangefinder mount), which Zeiss produced in 2008. I was tempted to go cheap and get the B+W, but then I figured that I would kick myself every time I used the lens. So, I bought this. The case that these filters come in is a wonder. Beautifully finished and shaped. A wonder of industrial design. The filter is well made, and the glass looks as if it isn't there at all. I would say that the B+W Schott glass is comparable in quality. Putting it on my lens, the hood bayonets on without binding on the outside of the filter. Some of the older B+W filter rings tend to be quite thick, but I think the latest B+W rings are thin now also. My only twinge of disappointment is that the filter is made in Japan (well, so is my lens, so what?). At this price, I was hoping it might say Made in Germany. Do I buy Leica filters for my Leica lenses? Occasionally, but not often. But, I did buy this Zeiss filter to go with my Zeiss lens.
