Pioneer's BDP-150 Blu-ray Player is a great way to take advantage of the ultra-high resolution available on HDTVs, since it offers full HD 1080p resolution. With compatibility for both Blu-ray discs and DVDs, you can enjoy all the latest Hollywood flicks from the comfort of your couch. And when you pop in a DVD, you can see it in near-HD quality since the player allows upscaling to full HD 1080p.

It features Wi-Fi connectivity (Wi-Fi converter required), so you won't need to add any clutter to your space. Or if you prefer, it also has an Ethernet port for a wired connection. But once it's on your network, you'll have even more choices for what to watch. You can select, stream and play music and videos stored on a compatible network Mac, PC or media server. iControlAV2012 for iPhone or ControlApp for iPhone or Android allow you to control your player directly from your smartphone.

An essential element to any home theater experience is the sound -- and the BDP-150 supports advanced audio formats like Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Using the front panel USB port, you can also display photos and enjoy media and music stored on a USB flash drive. So for convenience, high-performance and networked options, this disc player certainly delivers.

DLNA provides direct access to network features and playback from a smartphone, PC or a Digital Media Server (DMS)
Ultimate smartphone connectivity, with an unqualified viewing experience from smartphone media
Select, stream and play music and videos stored on a compatible network Mac, PC or media server
Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections are available for easy access to a home network. An optional Wi-Fi converter is available but not included
Broad audio and video playback supports FLAC, DivX+HD, 3GP, FLV or Blu-ray, DVD, SACD and AVCHD from the main unit
Sound Retriever Link optimizes sound quality from your PC music content, e.g. MP3, WMA, AAC (in combination with matching AV receivers)
Stream Smoother Link reduces picture distortion and enhances the video image. It works especially well with lower bit-rate contents, e.g. YouTube videos
Miscellaneous features include quick start, firmware updates, auto power down and wake on LAN
Deep Color ensures that all color transitions and gradients are reproduced with the highest level of precision. It enables increased contrast ratio, eliminates on-screen color banding (for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations between colors) and can represent many times more shades of gray between black and white. So what you see is as natural and lifelike as possible
x.v.Color (also known as xvYCC or Extended-gamut YCC) is a color space that supports 1 or 8 times as many colors as the RGB color space. The result is that you see greens, reds and blues far deeper than previously possible
The current surround sound quality decoding standard, Dolby Digital means movie theater sound performance for a home cinema. The listener will be wrapped in surround sound by 5.1-channel audio sound compression technology. Depending on the speakers, the front left and right, center, rear left and right speakers can span frequencies from 20Hz-20kHz and there is a dedicated subwoofer channel for additional low frequency sound effects. Extra features mean not only stunning soundtracks but also additional language tracks on one disc
Dolby Digital Plus is a digital audio compression scheme developed specifically for Blu-ray disc. It is a development of the earlier Dolby Digital system. Compared to Dolby Digital, it supports a greater range of bitrates at higher quality and up to thirteen full range audio channels compared with Dolby Digital's original five
Dolby TrueHD is an advanced lossless multi-channel audio codec from Dolby Laboratories. DTS-HD Master Audio is also a lossless audio codec created by Digital Theater System (DTS). Both codecs are intended primarily for high-definition home-entertainment equipment, such as Blu-ray disc. Put simply, the result is that you can now enjoy high resolution images accompanied by lush studio-quality HD sound
DTS Digital Surround is the high-quality surround sound format for providing 5.1 channels of discrete digital audio
DTS-HD Master Audio is an extension to the original DTS audio format. It delivers up to 7.1 channels of sound at 24-bit depth resolution. DTS-HD High Resolution Audio is selected as an optional surround sound format for Blu-ray Disc with constant bit rates up to respectively 6.0 Mbit/s and 3.0 Mbit/s
