Axis Communications P3367-VE overview

  • 1Description

The P3367-VE 5MP Outdoor Vandal-Resistant Dome Camera from AXIS Communications uses a 1/3.2" progressive-scan CMOS sensor for 2592 x 1944 resolution at 12 fps, and it features a 3-9mm varifocal lens for an 84° to 30° horizontal field of view. Additionally, the camera can be digitally panned, tilted, and rotated for conveniently adjusting your viewing angle without needing to physically access the camera. Wide dynamic range, white balance, and backlight compensation features offer high-quality images in ambient lighting, and line input and output connections allow for 2-way audio. The camera also comes with built-in analytics, such as motion detection, audio detection, active tampering alarm, autotracking, and line crossing. When any of these events occur, the camera will send you an email notification or store video recordings of the event to your edge storage.

The camera compresses footage using H.264 and MJPEG formatting, maximizing your bandwidth and storage. Additionally, video can be streamed in multiple individual streams, and frame rates and bandwidth are controllable for further customizing your network. A microSD slot supports on-site recording, however, the camera can also record remotely to a dedicated NAS. The network is secured with a number of safety features, including password protection, IP address filtering, and HTTPS encryption. PoE technology allows you to transfer both data and power over the same Ethernet cable, minimizing the amount of cables needed during installation, and the camera is IP66-, NEMA 4X-, and IK10-rated for use outdoors and in high-risk areas.

    Axis Communications P3367-VE reviews

    P3367-VE 5MP Outdoor Vandal-Resistant Dome Camera is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Outdoor Dome I have initially purchased one of these, just to try. Used it to replace Vivotek IP8362, which is their top-of-the-line 2MP bullet with IR. Despite the fact that Axis cam's field of view is a bit narrower than Vivotek's, the picture is so much better. Both day and night streaming is of very good visual quality. This is a 5 MP cam and this is what I paid for, so I use it as such. That has a limitation of 12FPS, but does not seem to affect quality. Sure, for smoother streaming of fast moving subjects, 30FPS would have been great. But you can't have that at 5MP, without IR at night. Depth of field is enourmous. Really nice to be able to see that much more. Keep in mind, if you want to see object that are far, and you want to see them in crystal clear focus, you need zoom, not just megapixels. Even then, you'd have to zoom in first, and then film at that setting, if you want to see that action (in a distance) on a recording. That is exactly why I did not go with their newly released x18 zoom 1080P bullet. I need my RECORDINGS to have as high of quality as possible. I have no need to zoom in while viewing live. Similar to most users, I suppose, I go back to recordings to check on something or to find something. That is where having a 5MP source is great. I have two of them now. With just a couple of light bulbs at night, I see a very large residential parking pad and driveway crystal clear. Highly recommended. P.S.: Sorry for long review, but don't forget their superb customer service, right here in USA :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Axis P3367-VE review This is a great network IP camera, in fact I own two of this particular model. In Canada it can get pretty cold during the winter. I selected this security camera because it can work in temperatures as low as -40 C (-40F). This camera provides a very impressive picture and works well in low light conditions. For my setup I have a couple 17 Watt L.E.D lights bulbs for my driveway and this is sufficient to let me see whatever enters the camera view at night, but it doesn't increase my electricity bill dramatically.
