This eyepiece, when combined with the 82mm Leica spotting scope, gives a superb image. Build quality is above average. Water resistant at the same level as the spotting scope (5 meters submersion.) Well constructed and armored against the abuse and knocks to be expected in actual field use. Quick attaching/removal with Leica bayonet mount. Optically superb, in the best Leica tradition. Clarity/resolution is outstanding center to edge through all focal lengths which is truly exceptional! Very good color. Bright image with outstanding contrast. Very wide exit pupil diameter and good eye relief so easy placement of the eye during field use, with or without glasses! An excellent candidate for digiscoping use. Works only moderately well with the Portugese made Leica 1.8 extender, which is the fault of the poor quality extender, not of this excellent eyepiece or the spotting scope.

Love this eyepiece.mounted on my Leica 82 spotting scope.the view is just mind blowing.

there is great view to be had with this eyepiece at 25 - 40 times but at the 50 needs refocusing then looses brightness at this price and being the only option for the 82 and65 scopes it should be as near to perfect as possible mine has visible imperfections in the glass but not in the view the twist out eye relieve cap broke early days (it is not even as good as the vanguard design on my 65 vanguard scope ) it has 3 2mm stops made of plastic which just wore off i taped it back on with electrical tape in my preferred position so one day i will get another cap

I have a leica 82 shooting scope is there a adapter to use a straight eyepiece as opposed to the angled I own.?

Unfortunately there is not. The part of the body of the scope where the eyepiece attaches is actually an elbow that turns up. The body of the straight scope is exactly that straight. Two different body styles.

No it will not. The Leica eyepiece requires a bayonet mount. Your scope takes an eyepiece with a diameter of 1.25" Any of these should work. https://bhpho.to/2OqgDG0

No. It's only for the eyepiece. You would use the B&H # LEDOLENS35MM (Leica's # 42308) 35mm digiscoping objective lens adapter over the 25-50x eyepiece that's attached to the Televid spotting scope and add the appropriate T2 mount onto the back of the Leica # 42308 to connect your camera to it.

NO, this eyepiece couples to the newer model Leica Televid 82 only... It will NOT couple to the older model Leica Televid 77, straight OR angled.

Yes you can get an adapter but not afaik from B&H or Leica. Starlight instruments sells a very nice one for 2 focusers and APM Telescopes sells either a 2 or 1-1/4 version but not quite as nice.
