If your microphone has a 3/8 female thread on the bottom designed for connection to a boom pole, the Revo Hot Shoe to 1/4 -20 Male Post Adapter would work, but would also need the Oben 3/8 -16 to 1/4 -20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039, to enlarge the 1/4 -20 thread screws on the top of the unit to 3/8 -16 for use with the Rode microphone. If you can give us the model number of the Rode microphone in question, we can give you a more definite inquiry.

It fits in a standard hot shoe. It looks like the Sony HXR-NX100 has a standard hot shoe.
