It is designed for crystal clear voice communication to production teams on the move. This wireless transmitter operates in the simplex mode, which means that when one person in a group transmits, the message is received by everyone. An unlimited number of transceivers can operate at the same frequency and the system can also be utilized as a dual-channel intercom with switching. This unit operates with a rechargeable Nicad battery (sold separately). It includes a military belt clip for convenient carrying.

The SC-1000 transceiver features a full watt of transmission power at a distance of up to 1 mile (1.61 km). It utilizes UHF high-band frequencies that can penetrate concrete or steel surfaces. This makes SC-1000 a cost-effective sound solution for schools, churches, community theatres, or any on-location venue where users need to communicate between buildings or through walls.

Eartec SC-1000 Reviews

NON RETURNABLE OR REFUNDABLE

When ordering I didn't realize that this item was non- returnable/returnable. The media team had a few concerns about the neck piece being too tight (they have long hair) and also the feedback in their ears. I am sure once they know it can't be returned they will have to make it happen. my rating is not so much based on the product but not being able to return.

Decent, not great

I bought these to keep track of my crew on a small college campus. The brick buildings proved to be too much for them. Outside and relatively close, they worked pretty well. The PTT feature on the headsets in nice and the ear cup is decent, although several of my crew complained about the earpiece being too tight. I had to switch ears several times during the day. I was impressed with the battery life. One of the chargers in the kit was defective, wouldn't charge the battery and heated up enough to smell like melting plastic. Indoors they worked pretty well. I will be testing them out in different situations in the near future.

Worth the money

We use our new walkie talkies and headsets on the jobsite. Was really concerned if they would work good, while operating my crane, as it is very loud. The guys can hear me fine, as I can hear them loud and clear. Makes things so much safer, and more productive. Only down side so far, is the ear piece doesn't have much cushion, therefore they tend to dig in, and make your ear sore. Maybe I'll add some padding. Would definitely purchase again.

We picked up these units for team communications during a multi-camera, live internet broadcast. Setup was simple enough, as well as range, but little things detracted from their usefulness. Used the system with the Secret Service Headset, which wasn't very comfortable on the inner ear, plus the fact that all of the ear pieces were designed for the left ear, which didn't help out one of my guys that could only hear in the right ear! Finding the microphone clip on the headset to talk was a bit difficult as well. Lastly, the units clip on the belt device just didn't work very well, with the unit falling off more than once. I've actually just returned these.

I have an AV Control room that is separate from my companies main presentation area. Occasionally, I need to have someone in the main hall to let me know what is going on, what mics to bring up, etc. walkie talkies were too noisy. This is the perfect solution.

Good Wireless Com System on a Budget

I use this Wireless Com System for my Church Live Stream. 1 Producer and 2 Camera ops. GOOD: Good quality in sound and functionality. BAD: The downside with these radios is you have to press a button on the radio or the headset to talk. When you are producing or when you are busy with a camera, it is frustrating to have to manually press a button to talk.

Decent Quality

Recently purchased as my first handheld radios so can't compare to others. They seem to work well and are able to transmit clearly for approximately 0.3 miles away -- having one unit inside a 4-story co-op apartment and the other at street level in an urban setting. Also worked well from within the building's elevators -- but I have tested the distance in an open area. Not sure about the digital encryption / privacy codes ... as I was able to communicate with these handhelds using a Midland GMRS car radio. I contacted the manufacturer to find out how one can go about setting privacy codes -- and they advised that the phones ship without any frequency adjustments -- and that I'd need to send them out to their factory in order to have privacy codes set. But to the contrary -- in order for my midland radio to speak to these (on channel 4), I had to set its CTCSS privacy code to 67.09.
