    Canon 5247B011AA reviews

Speedlite 270EX II is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 225.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Canon Cameras with no pop-up flash! I've had the Canon 20D,40D and 7D and all of those had a pop-up flash. The new 5D Mark IV that i now have does not! I usually do a lot of studio work but every now and then find myself in just casual shooting situations! I purchased this flash as a small, unobtrusive replacement for the pop-up flash and it does the job splendidly! It's way better than putting the 600 EX-RT on the camera for just casual situations! Granted it is the smallest Canon flash and it will no where come close to the 600 EX-RT in power, but as long as you recognize that and use it as just a pop-up flash replacement, you won't be disappointed! Very happy with this purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Canon Speedlight 270EX II I purchased this small but mighty Speedlight because my 5D Mark III doesn't have a built-in flash. I already have a 580EX II, but don't always need the 'big-guns', with all of the manual overides and fuul power etc. The 270EX II is TTL compatible, but there are no manual overides or pretty much anything but an on/off switch and a slave feature. Great for 15' and less, bounce (but no tilt-swivel), fill-in flash etc. Nice build quality, but with two AA batteries, the recycle time could be better. Recommend either Lithium AA or 2900 Mah NiMH rechargeables. I like it very much - for what it is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lighting help My Canon 5D Mark III does not have a flash built-in. This is a small, easy, and relatively cheap solution. It lacks power to light up a whole room, but is good for fill flash on nearby subjects, and close-ups. The remote function is infrared based so the flash has to point at the front of the camera for it to work, and it requires a commander flash or Wi-Fi transmitter to work as a real slave flash. This is a draw back. If you want to quickly use your camera with a flash as a snap shooter for a while this flash is sufficient. Otherwise I would spend just a bit more for the extra power and functions, and deal with the extra size and weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent light weight fill flash I bought this flash to use my 5D II for fill light on day light shots. So far it has exceeded my expectations. It does not have all the functionality of the a 580 EX unit, but it does have all the functionality required for casual shots. And the best part, it is surprisingly compact and very light weight. I just went on a cruise, I pulled my 580 EX II out of the bag and took this instead. If I'm honest, there were a couple of evening shots that would have benefited from the extra power of the 580, but nothing that can't be resolved in Lightroom. Overall taking the 270 was a great choice and I only went through two sets of batteries in seven days of shooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compact flash for Canon T2i Very lightweight and easy to use. Huge improvement over the pop-up flash, at a reasonable cost. Doesn't add any noticeable weight to what is already a lightweight camera body (EOS T2i). Helps minimize/eliminate shadowing effect with full 90degree tilt and fits right in your pocket or camera side pouch. Decent flash is a must for any DSLR kit and this will get the job done for any amateur photo enthusiast. It certainly doesn't feel like it would survive any major drop, but I suspect most flash attachments wont fare to well if they ever kiss the concrete. Overall, it feels sturdy enough to survive one's pocket or bouncing around in a bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, pocketable, effective - just what I needed I usually shoot without a flash. My main camera, 5D Mk III, has excellent high ISO performance so all I need from an external light source is a little boost to fill shadows e.g., under the nose or eyes in head shots. When I shoot pictures of race car drivers, they are either wearing caps or helmets. The little pop this flash gives brightens their faces just enough. Since I'm almost always wearing a cap, not having a tall electronic flash on the camera means I don't hav to turn my brim around. Wearing your hat on backwards at my age makes me look even dumber than normal! Fast recycling time, surprisingly accurate exposure results, perfect size for my purposes and it sells at a decent price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice fill in flash I bought this flash as a fill in flash for travel. I do not use flash a lot - my Canon 5D Mark III has very high ISO range. But sometimes it helps. The build is solid, the control is simple. In case of Mark III you can fully control the flash from the camera - put in manual mode (1-1/64), slow sync, etc. Most of the typical features for Speedlight flash. Another feature I found useful I can use this flash as a remote control for my camera. So if I am shooting from a tripod I don't need to carry any additional remote switch! Useful. When I don't need many lenses and just attach 24-105 to the body, it fits nicely in Lowerpro TLZ1 together with my camera and GPS unit. So I highly recommend this flash. I have other flashes, but they are too bulky for travel with a small bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good little flash that doubles as a remote shutter I bought this to go on my EOS M a few years ago as opposed to the tiny 90 EX. I wanted something small but not that small. The head tilts up to bounce and manually zooms (pull it out) for telephoto. It can be used as a slave and remote shutter trigger too. Recycle time isn't too bad considering it uses two AA batteries. Generally faster than the built in flash. Very good build quality. For the size and price this is a pretty good flash but don't expect performance of a 580 EX II or 600 EX out of it.
