Oben AC-1451 Tripod with BA-113 Ball Head Overview

The Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with BA-113 Ball Head provides reliable support for DSLRs, point-and-shoot cameras or video cameras 13.2 lb.

The tripod's four-section legs are fabricated from high tensile strength aluminum. It rises to a maximum height of 67.2" with the center column fully extended and folds down to a compact 23.1" for transport. Flip locks on the legs facilitate rapid setup and break down. Three leg angles: normal (80°), low (55°) and extra low (24°) are available via angle adjustment tabs at the joint of each leg. You can reverse the column with a twist of the butterfly knob or split it in two and use the short column for macro and low angle shooting as low as 8.9" from the ground. Any combination of leg angles can be combined to accommodate uneven terrain, stairs or obstructions. A built-in bubble level helps you square up your compositions. For extra stability the center column employs a spring-loaded counterbalance hook.

The included BA-113 ball head features a single-action knob that controls its rotation and 360 degree panning while a robust ball-locking mechanism secures it solidly. The head's four bubble levels ensure accurate panoramas. The BA-113's built-in quick release comes with a camera plate that features a standard 1/4"-20 screw and a retractable, removable video pin to provide additional stability for camcorders. Since the head is removable, locking screws underneath the collar thwart torsion when re-attaching. The tripod comes with a carry case and shoulder strap for storage and transport.

A spring-loaded counterweight hook is located at the bottom of the center column. The column can be separated into 2 parts to give you a short column for low angle and macro work
Leg cushions on 2 legs provide a firm grip in cold or wet weather
Two included hex keys attach to a tripod leg, so you're always ready to tighten components
Padded carry bag provides a snug fit for the tripod/head combination and features two heavy-duty zippers, an interior pocket with a zipper, and a shoulder strap
Angle adjustment locks keep legs at the chosen angles
Center column is grooved to prevent rotation
Angled rubber feet for maximum contact with the ground
Tripod features reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screw to fit almost any head

Works great, this was a replacement for one that was stolen. Easily flip the leg closures to adjust the height, the foam on the legs are nice when it's cold out, or super hot, so it's easy to carry. I've used in in all types of environments from sand to snow, no problems.

The Oben tripod works for me except for one issue. The issue is it is difficult to get my Canon T8i camera on it, but once it is on it, the tripod is easy to use with the camera on it.

Works for my needs and got it before the price went back up....I needed a tall tripod because i am 6-3 and was tired of hunching over looking through the view finder while shooting....everything works smooth with the exception of the ballhead...i replaced it with a Benro HD3A 3-Way Panhead .. a bit heavier but works great .

Good tripod with minor deficencies

I had this tripod a year before i noticed that it was the 1451 not the 1461 I ordered. I am happy with the item and it has served well. Buyers should note that it is not an ARCA sized plate. This caused two tries to get a compatible hand strap and there is no L bracket that is compatible although it may be possible to build one from two parts.

Good Value, light weight, compact

Good light to medium duty tripod.  Only issue is mounting plate is slightly small and alignment pin does not match typical DSLR. Therefore, with standard size DSLR body, the camera tends to slip in vertical orientation. Otherwise, ball head works very smoothly. Center adjustment a little sticky when loosing or tightening.  Considering the price, still a good value.

Not for heavy lenses!

I attached my Canon 80D w/ 18-135mm lens and attachment kept on slipping downwards especially when on portrait mode!

I just got mine, super lightweight and compatible with almost every standard fluid head, I replace the photo head with my existing video head. It has a bonus, Allen Screw Tool which can be attached to the legs super handy, you will never forget to bring Allen screw tools anymore!

wish it had an arm to move the platform, but there's not one in the picture so that's not it's fault. easy to adjust and solid when tightened. tried it with my spotting scope and it is very steady.

question

Can this tripod hold Canon EOS7D with 70-200mm telephoto lens? Is a reducer required for EOS7D with this tripod for the included BA-113 Ball Head? Thank you.
Asked by: Anonymous
This tripods weight capacity is more than sufficient for holding your Canon EOS 7D and a 70-200mm f2.8 lens. Both the camera and lens tripod collar (if applicable) have a standard sized 1/4-20 tripod mount thread size, which is the same size as the male threading on the head/plate of this tripod. No adapter or reducers are required.
