Pelican 1510 overview

  • 1Description

The desert tan Pelican 1510SC Studio Case with Lid Organizer and Black Divider Set provides ample room for your travel needs with a durable, weather-proof design. The case features a durable hard plastic exterior that can stand up to the abuse of travel thanks to its crush-proof design. Additionally, its O-ring seal keeps out dust, dirt, and water so your items remain protected regardless of the weather conditions. Further, the case can even withstand submersion in water thanks it its IP67 rating (1-meter submersion for 30 minutes) without damaging your laptop, clothing, or other critical items thanks to the built-in automatic pressure equalization valve. The rugged polypropylene shell is also designed to resist harmful chemicals as well as corrosion. The stainless-steel hardware and padlock protectors are as durable as the rest of the case.

The 1510SC includes a set of padded dividers and a lid organizer. The foam dividers are easily adjustable for an easy way to customize the case to your needs. The LOC lid organizer optimizes the interior space by providing an easy way to make the most out of the space under the lid rather than having to stuff everything into the bottom section.

    Pelican 1510 reviews

1510SC Studio Case with Lid Organizer and Black Divider Set (Desert Tan) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 130.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pelican for the traveling photographer I am a traveling photographer and that means being able to transport my gear safely and stress free. When I first started I used paded dividers in a sturdy suitcase and now I've upgraded to the pelican. It honestly is life changing for the traveling photographer and it's the best investment I've made this year. I have used pelican cases for years and they work the same as the first day I bought them. Extremely durable and rugged proof. So I finally decided to get one on wheels. Which is also a bonus because it takes all the weight off your shoulders and back and makes walking across the airport a delight. If your considering this, it's a must.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like this case!!! I am not a professional but do carry gear with me when I travel for work. I have to take pics of exteriors and interiors for business purpose so have to carry enough stuff to get the job done. I can get two bodies, 4 lenses, flash, accessories, etc. with no problem. Especially like being able to place my 13 Mac Air in the lid with the attached storage bags. I understand why they do not have very large wheels (you lose more storage on the inside) but wish they were a little bigger. When pulling the case the ground clearance is not very much so if you are going over rougher surface the case can drag on things and gets scuffed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful product, fits in a lot of stuff The new studio case is pretty flexible and helps to carry one less bag. It keeps the equipment safe even if the laptop compartment is there instead of foam. It helps because i can have everything in one area instead of having another bag for my laptop if i was using only foam on top. To give you an idea of the case - in the photo attached following are the products (all nikon) - 1 x D850 1 x D750 with battery grip 24-70mm ; 17-35mm ; 50mm 85mm 70-200mm 15" laptop, wires and memory cards, triggers. Hard disk Bose color soundlink speaker You can add one more small lens or a flash here instead of the hard disk and speaker. Brilliant case. You won't regret buying it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Case - Dividers not so much The case itself is great - you know what you are getting with Pelican. The lower dividers, however, are in need of an upgrade. The way the velcro is placed on the padded inserts makes the possible configurations very limited. The material is cheap and flimsy and below the quality I expected from Pelican given my experience with their cases. The laptop lid system is good so far but you need to be careful that items in the main area do not stick up higher than the rim or else you could easily dent or crush a laptop when you close the case. My D800's (without battery grip) need to sit flat in order to prevent this, but that's fine. I ended up ordering the TrekPak divider system for an extra $ and now am completel;y happy with that combo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent case, may get a second one for overflow gear. I initially put this case on my shopping list to use as a carryon for travel assignments and also as a way to store gear in my basement without worrying about dust and moisture. It has become the case that travels to every assignment. I may buy a second one with the alternate lid organizer for overflow gear. A couple of points to keep in mind: -- The pouch of a laptop dwarfs the current 13 Macbook Pro Retina. . . by a lot. I still have not worked out how to use it with the laptop without worrying about it swimming around in the case. -- If you use full size camera bodies (Canon 1D, etc) or a body with a vertical grip, you need to be strategic about where you place them or there won't be enough clearance for the laptop or other items in the second pouch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the traveling photographer I bought this case for one reason: in flight carry on... The cameras and lenses come on board. Every time. This case is the exact dimensions of what most airlines allow for carry on luggage. I was using a Tenba roller bag for a long time, which is still great, however the softer form of it doesn't provide as much protection, and depending on who is working at the gate that day they might argue it was too big for the overhead bin. There's zero question with this case. My only real complaint is that the extendable handle is not comfortable when rolling it around for awhile through the airport. It would be nice if they made that part of it soft or at least more form fit for a hand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get different internal pockets Well designed and highly functional. Not worried about there not being enough overhead bin space on a flight because they can just check it! Get the TSA locks though. the internal pockets are great but the big one is a little poorly designed. I think you can exchange it for a couple or maybe three small pockets. Padded sides not as much protection as foam but much nicer to work with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy but a bit heavy! Great case and almost indestructible! It is a bit on the heavy side and could use larger or better wheels that allow it to roll a bit more smoothly over rough pavement. The only problem I have with it is that if you pack in pro bodies like the Canon 1D series that are a bit tall, I can't seem to close the lid when there is a laptop tucked inside. The top of the camera bodies press firmly against the laptop and that may break the screen if the case takes a knock. This is not a problem with shorter cameras like the Canon 5D.
