The Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter from Iogear is an ultra-compact and versatile adapter that turns any computer with a USB port into a Bluetooth-enabled PC. Wirelessly connect any Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as other computers, printers, smartphones, headsets, and many others. With its tiny footprint the Micro Adapter takes up very little room on your computer or laptop, making it far less prone to snagging on objects, as well as utilizing much less power than other bus powered adapters. It supports technologies like A2DP stereo audio wireless streaming and File Transfer (FTP), allowing you to do many different tasks with your devices, all from a single adapter.

Adapter wirelessly communicates with all Bluetooth-enabled computers, printers, smartphones, or headsets. Plugging it in turns any computer with a USB port into a Bluetooth-enabled computer
By itself, it uses ultra-low power consumption levels, while it also supports dual-mode and Bluetooth Low Energy to further conserve energy and utility costs
Supports maximum asynchronous transfer rate of 3.0 Mbps, 2.4GHz ~ 2.4835GHz ISM Band, A2DP stereo audio wireless streaming, and a maximum wireless range of up to 30'
The adapter has a very tiny design and does not get in the way of, or get caught on, other USB ports or objects nearby the computer
The adapter supports: Generic Access (GAP), Serial Port (SPP), Dial-Up Networking (DUN), Bluetooth Proximity Profile, LAN Access (LAP), Object Push (OPP), File Transfer (FTP), Headset (HSP), Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP), Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP), Synchronization (SYNCH), and is backwards compatible with Bluetooth 1.1, 1.2, 2.0 and 3.0

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running on my 2010 Mac Pro tower running Max OS X 10.11.6 I was having issues with my Magic Mouse dragging, being jittery, and disconnecting. I bought this without looking at the system requirements, which specifically says PC-only and Windows. When it arrived I tried it anyway, unplugged my built in Bluetooth chip, plugged in the Bluetooth 4.0 USB micro adapter into a back USB port, and restarted my Mac Pro. I used a wired mouse to reconnect my wireless Apple Trackpad 2 and Magic Mouse 2. The Bluetooth 4.0 adapter was recognized and showed up under the Bluetooth System Report. Mouse and trackpad work flawlessly with the adapter and no more drag, jitter or disconnecting devices!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MINI IN SIZE HUGE AT WORK I had lost all of my Bluetooth capabilities when I upgraded my PC from Vista to Windows 7; did some research; tried various things; nothing worked. This little device was money well spent, now I can enjoy my radio quietly in the office via my Bluetooth headset. Normally, I am too lazy to write reviews but the salesman at B&H was very helpful so just wanted to show my appreciation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works, once you can set it up Bought it for my desktop PC. This thing is tiny!, barely bigger than an in-ear hearing aid. Which is fine if you plug it in an leave it, but if you need to remove it, you'd better be careful storing it. My beef is with the installation instructions. It comes with a mini cd, which my PC promptly spit out and dropped on the floor. Seems to be a common problem because there is a sticker on the cd envelope saying you may need to download the software from their website. The picture book instructions that come with it, I found useless. After downloading the software from the website, I could not figure out how to activate it. I finally downloaded the pdf Manual from the internet, and learned how to get it going. Works fine with my wireless headphones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works out of the box with Ubuntu Linux 12.04 Bought this so I can stream music from my desktop to my Klipsch 2.1 Bluetooth speakers. Works flawlessly with Ubuntu Linux 12.04. Just be sure you have Bluetooth installed (sudo apt-get install bluetooth). Then simply pair with the speakers, just be sure you're set to play to them as your sound playback device rather than something like the built in soundcard, and that's it. Awesome and so inexpensive!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loses connectivity several times a day Using it with a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse. It is plugged into the front of a HP Z420 and has direct line of sight to the mouse that is 36-40 away. Also tried it plugged into the back of my monitor. In both positions, it loses connectivity several times a day and has to be unplugged and plugged back in to reconnect. No hub, direct plug into the computer's USB2 port.
