The Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Wide-Angle Lens for Canon gives you a wide 84° view when used with a full-frame 35mm camera, 57.6° when used with an APS-C camera or 47.6º with Four-Thirds cameras. Four low-dispersion (ED) glass elements and two aspheric elements produce sharply defined images with a minimum of aberrations. The lens focuses as close as 9.84" from the lens, giving you outstanding wide-angle close-up views. A multi-layered and anti-reflection UMC coating provides superb light transmission and reduced flaring. It is a manual focus lens.

Samyang 24mm f/1.4 Overview

The Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Wide-Angle Lens for Canon gives you a wide 84° view when used with a full-frame 35mm camera, 57.6° when used with an APS-C camera or 47.6º with Four-Thirds cameras. Four low-dispersion (ED) glass elements and two aspheric elements produce sharply defined images with a minimum of aberrations. The lens focuses as close as 9.84" from the lens, giving you outstanding wide-angle close-up views. A multi-layered and anti-reflection UMC coating provides superb light transmission and reduced flaring. It is a manual focus lens.

Excellent lens when stepped down to f/1.8 for astro

When used with a speed booster at f/1.4 indicated on the lens it can produce some nasty coma, I have not extensively tested this, but I have a few examples (there is a slim chance this is the speedbooster). Just be forewarned. Be careful when using this in extreme cold weather (-20 deg C), I had some deposition (frost) on the inside of the front element, solution: 2 days in a plastic bag with some silica beads water absorbed. this is no longer an issue. My copy of the lens focused ever so slightly past infinity, so take that into consideration if you plan to use this lens in the dark. Otherwise this is a spectacular astro lens, 4.5/5 recommended.

Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Wide-Angle Lens for Canon is a fully manual focus lens. The lens focus ring rotates on its own axis without shifting the position of the lens once is attached to the camera.

Yes, the Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC for Canon will mount on the Canon T3i, and will work on other full-frame or APS-C EF/EF-S mount systems. On your T3i, this lens has an equivalent focal length of a 38.4mm.
