The 160-PH Inclined Monocular Compound Microscope from National Optical is a four-objective optical instrument designed for university students and laboratory use. This microscope is equipped with Phase Contrast objectives that enhance contrast for viewing unstained specimens. The 100xR magnification objective can be oil-immersed for improved light transmission. The objectives are also parfocalled and parcentered, keeping the specimen in focus and centered in the field of view when the magnification is changed. A 360° rotating monocular viewing head enables the inclined eyepiece to be shared with multiple viewers without having to move the microscope.

This configuration of the 160 has separate fine and coarse focus adjustment dials. The focus system also includes a slip clutch and rack stop that prevents mishandling as well as protecting the objective and specimen. The 160 series microscope also features a rheostat-controlled 20W halogen light source and a mechanical stage with low-position x-y specimen adjustment controls. National Optical engineered this compound microscope to be user-friendly yet feature-rich enough to employ advanced microscopy techniques. The 160 series is built for reliable performance and is backed by the manufacturer's lifetime warranty.
