Q-Clone from Waves is a plug-in for use with native systems and consists of two parts. The first part, Q-Clone features a large library of classic EQ presets, taken from the original hardware units. The second part, Q-Capture allows the user to capture custom snapshots from any hardware EQ at hand.

The software sends a known signal into the hardware EQ with its desired settings and the resulting returning sound is analyzed and promptly made into an EQ preset, that can be reused any number of times. This way a mix can be built with different EQ settings on each track using a single hardware EQ.
