Ruggard Navigator 55 overview

  • 1Description

The Navigator 55 DSLR Shoulder Bag from Ruggard is a compact, lightweight (15 oz) way to carry around your small DSLR with kit lens. The inside of the bag features ten removable padded dividers that allow you to create individual compartments for your gear.

The exterior of the bag features a front protective flap with a quick release buckle that closes over the bag. The front of the bag itself has a compartment with a few smaller pockets. Inside, there is a zippered mesh pocket, two slash pockets, and two touch-fastened pockets for memory cards. The rear of the bag contains another zippered pocket where you'll find a removable rain cover. One side of the bag has an accessory loop on which you can attach an optional pouch. The other side of the bag has a neoprene stretch pocket for even more small items.

The exterior of the bag is made from water-resistant polyester and ballistic nylon, while the interior lining is polyester. Two rubber feet on the bottom protect the bottom of the bag when placed on the ground. Access to the bag is via two YKK zippers with yellow pull tabs. The bag is carried by its adjustable, removable shoulder strap or top grab handle. There's also a trolley sleeve on the back that allows you to thread the bag over your optional rolling luggage cart.

    Ruggard Navigator 55 reviews

Navigator 55 DSLR Shoulder Bag is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Well Made - Nicely Designed - Medium Shoulder Bag I use this back strickly as a lens bag. I have another - slightly larger - for my camera bodies - LCD monitor - rails - mounts - FF - etc... This bag holds my 70-200mm f/2.8, 17-35mm f/2.8, 35-70mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 28mm f/1.8 and their hoods, etc... This is my main go-to bag for work. It is very well made. Easily configurable compartment. Well padded. Dual zipper and quick release top flat protection. Comfortable strap. Nice front accessory compartment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good quality, excellent option for value paid I bought this Ruggard bag as a replacement for my old Tamrac. Its quality is really impressive, including excellent lockers/zippers and an extra rain cover and a very useful slot for a tablet. Nevertheless, I am still getting used to it. I still did not find a good way to storage my photo equipment during short trips. I use to carry one camera body plus three lenses. The best way I found so far is with camera body with one lens attached facing down. Honestly, I prefered the way I used to do, with camera body/lens facing one of bag sides. But I am still working on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very convenient and sturdy! This bag was an add on with my new D4s and I was pleasantly surprised at how compact yet I can fit so much in it. I love the handle in the top that lays nice and flat yet easy to grab in a hurry. The shoulder strap is comfortable as well. A wonderful set of removable spacers that are adjustable with Velcro for customizing the inside storage. Pleasantly surprised that I will actually use it and will use it well. It will not carry all my gear, but I have another bag when I need to take all the lenses and flashes, etc.. This is a good day bag and the zippers and pockets are handy and easy to get into.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good as a Second or Backup Bag This bag was included by B&H in my purchase as a promotion. It is an acceptable bag for accessories, etc. or as a second bag. However, there are much better bags for use as your primary bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and durable I haven't used this bag a whole lot, but it seems sturdy and durable. It is reinforced and has lots of the padded velcro peices for making different configurations. It seems like the bag could take some abuse and still protect the equipment inside. Lots of good storage space and pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a big Bag This is a very big medium sized bag. Very ockward if carrying over your shoulder. BUT it is very study and has a lot of room! I can fit my D800(w/ bat grip) + D600(W/ Bat grip) + 24-70 f2.8 + 50mm 1.8. plus memory card holder and 2.5in HHD laying on lot AND a 7in tablet in the side pocket!. I use it to store that gear instead of actually taking it out on the road. This is a really great bag but a little bit too big for me. But I wont knock it because it is not my personal style but overall it is a really good sized, strong bag!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job This is a large shoulder bag that I am using to carry a Nikon 7100 DSLR with attached 16-80mm zoom lens, 70-200 f4 lens, and an 11-16 f2.8 ultra wide angle lens (which is quite hefty). There is additional room for a flash, filters, laptop/tablet, etc. in the bag. The Ruggard is not quite as well designed as my old Lowepro shoulder bag, which was unfortunately discontinued, but it serves its purpose and is worth the price. I recommend this bag if you like shoulder bags and need something to accomodate a lot of gear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bag Nice bag for the right camera. Came bundled with Canon DX 1 body. This was not the right camera body to bundle with. Way to small to be useful with this camera. Only room for camera and single lens. Probably not useful for most photographers that would purchase this camera. For price point of this camera I would have bundled a medium to large backpack style bag. Would have been much more useful allowing to carry body and multiple lenses, filters and such. Bottom line well built bag wrong bundle.
