Would this be necessary for a 35mm focal length or is the regular 67mm adapter ring fine for that focal length?

I bought this item for a 75mm 4X5 lens, the equivalent of a 21mm in full-frame 35mm. Works fine at that focal length. However, I suspect the regular adapter ring might work for a 35mm focal length with a 35mm film or sensor size.
