Spanning a useful range, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR from Nikon covers wide-angle to portrait-length focal lengths to suit working in a wide variety of situations. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element, which help to greatly reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range. A Super Integrated Coating also minimizes surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy. Complementing the optics, this lens also sports a Silent Wave Motor for fast and accurate autofocus along with VR II image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake by four stops.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR Reviews
Very nice zoom
This was my first Lens purchase for my new Nikon D850. It is an extremely high quality super sharp wide-short telephoto Lens. Budget priced, it's great for general Photography. However, its 3.5/4.5 maximum aperture is too slow for very low light & fast action shooting. I'm going to upgrade to the 24-70mm f2.8E
Very good for price.
Very good Lens under $500.00 Extremely sharp, even at 85mm hand held likely due to the VR. However, it's a slow Lens, not capable of hand held shooting in low light. I'll be replacing it with a 24-70 f2.8E in the future.
Nikon 24-85mm
Very clean images ,respondes very well to my D850s comands
I like it but I don't like it
some time's it's sharp and some time's its not
In my opinion the best Nikon budget normal zoom.
As a photo enthusiast and not a professional; I'm not willing at the moment to spend more than $500 on a Normal zoom lens. Why? Because I also need a Super Wide and fast lens, a Telephoto zoom and a Macro lens. Did a research on all Third party lens, and decided to go with a native Nikon lens. Glad that I choose this lens, because is not to big or heavy. As soon as I got it tested it on my wall chart test and was blown away by the resolution and almost non chromatic aberration. Tested on a Nikon Z5.
great lens!
have this paired with D5200 and love it. So far none of the issues we have had with the VR vibrations on a slightly older 80-300 lens.
Exceeds expectations
I did a lot of on-line reading between the Nikkor 24-85mm and the 24-120mm to use with my Nikon D750 body. I decided to go with the 24-85mm and maybe add a longer lens in the future. So far I am very pleased. The first shots are crisp and clear. The weight is acceptable on my D750 body. I am pleased with my choice of the 24-85mm.
Very good for an economically priced lens.
While the Nikon 24-85mm VR Lens is certainly not a Pro Lens, it is extremely sharp. Too slow for some applications, it is nevertheless an excellent Lens for beginners & amateurs for under $500.00
