This 50-sheet pack of 8.5 x 11" Galerie Prestige Gold Fibre Silk from Ilford features a wide color gamut and a baryta (barium sulphate) layer with a 100% cotton rag base. The paper is designed for pigment and dye-based ink systems and imitates the look of traditional silver halide photo paper. The paper's 310 gsm weight provides a heavy, professional quality medium. The nanoporous instant dry surface provides maximum ink absorption and allows for worry-free paper handling right out of the printer. The paper can be used for both black and white and color prints and provides the ability to imitate chemically toned sepia, gold, selenium & blue images. Additionally, it does not use optical brightening agents for maximum longevity and an opacity of >98%.

GALERIE Prestige Gold Fibre Silk Paper (8.5 x 11", 50 Sheets) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Paper Absolutely one of the most beautiful papers for both Black & White and Color printing I have found. It has a very rich saturation capacity and the surface is so smooth there is no distraction or added artifacts that impact the image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for me. I use other papers for various reasons but this is by far the paper I use most often. 1 star for color. 2nd star for weight-very substantial. 3rd star for texture (or lack of it).4th star for size. 13 X19 must have been made for 35MM users. I print one 12 X 18 with half inch borders and no waste or two 8 X 12 with half inch borders on the same sheet with only one inch waste. 5th star is because it comes 50 sheets to a box. If Ilford quits selling it in 50 sheet boxes you can deduct one star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best glossy paper I'm an advanced amateur and do a medium volume of printing. My primary applications are framed prints (behind acrylic or museum glass) as well as hand-made display portfolios, from 7x10.5 to 16x24. Epson 3880. I've spent a lot of time comparing dozens of papers. Judgmental technique: I compare a reference test print (http://digitaldog.net/files/Printer%20Test%20file.jpg) and a fixed sample of 4 challenging images under the same lighting for all papers. While I increasingly use matte paper (Epson Hot Press Bright, favorite) for many images, Ilford Gold Fibre Silk is my favorite gloss paper. GFS feels great in the hand, so it's my preference for portfolio reviews/displays. It has a very slightly pebbled, but not textured finish. Here's how it compares to other near-favorites. Harman by Hahnemuhle Baryta is ever-so-slightly more vivid than GFS, but it's shinier (which I don't like) and doesn't lay as flat (so head strikes are more of a problem). GFS is nearly identical to Canson Baryta, but GFS is slightly less pebbly (which I prefer) and slightly more vivid. I've not tried Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta or Moab Juniper Baryta, which I think are in the same category. Compared to other lesser but comparable PK papers, GFS is thicker (better in the hand, flatter behind glass) than Epson Ultra Premium Luster and Canon Pro Luster. GFS has slightly better image quality, particularly color and pop, than Ilford Galerie Prestige Pearl, Hahnemuhle Photo Pearl 310, and Moab Lasal Luster. GFS doesn't have the texture (which I dislike for most images) of Epson Exhibition Fiber, Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl 320, and Canson Platine Fiber Rag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This paper is amazing Just started using this paper on my Epson 3880 for small-midsize prints. It produces vivid colors, sharp details, excellant B&W prints and has a hefty 310 GSM weight. Very reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paper for monochrome and color I use this paper with an Epson 3880 printer. Most of my prints are monochrome, but I do print color on this paper as well. I have used this paper in 8.5x11 and 11x17 sizes. Ilford Gold Fiber Silk has a nice luster, fine tooth (no distracting surface texture), and feels pleasantly heavy. It is an alpha-cellulose paper, so of course it doesn't feel quite the same as a cotton rag paper, but it nevertheless gives the impression of top quality. Gloss differential is minimal, even on high-key photographs, images are sharp, and the dynamic range is very good. This paper has a somewhat warm tone and uses no optical brightening agents, so longevity should be good as well. Honestly the only drawback I've found is I've had to widen the platen on my printer when using the 8.5x11 size paper in order to avoid head strikes, but that's an easy fix requiring just a couple of mouse clicks. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paper I have used many type of paper for printing and the Ilford Galerie Prestige has become one of my favorites. The print quality of color and BW on this paper is wonderful. The paper is a bit more durable than other papers that I have used and is a great value for the price. I would definitely recommend this paper to anyone who wants high quality prints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Black and Definition This is my special paper for black and white prints. I've used at least half a dozen brands and special papers. I even ordered samples of different papers. This paper has no equal for me in my work. I use it only for the work I want to sell, to impress and to sell. I'm a professional when I'm paid for my work. This paper makes me a professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will buy this again I wanted something with the feel of wet darkroom enlarging paper for making b & w digital prints from some older negatives. I am satisfied with this paper. The prints look very good. The weight of the paper is a struggle for my printer, Canon MG6320. It takes two tries to feed the sheet, but with a little perseverance and patience it works.
