You get a high resolution 16.1MP sensor, a sharp Nikon 26x zoom lens that will carry you from a very wide-angle 22.5mm all the way to ultra telephoto 585mm (equivalent in 35mm format)--there's really no type of photography (landscape, portraits, parties, travel, wildlife, sports, etc.) that isn't possible with this range. And with optical image stabilization and sensitivity up to 1600 ISO, you'll get sharp pictures every time, even in low light or using the longest telephoto setting.

Of course, 1280 x 720 HD video is included, with stereo sound--all you need to do is touch one button and you're shooting beautiful video without making any adjustments. A bright, high-resolution (921K dots) 3" LCD display helps you capture and view great images under any lighting conditions.

Other great features include modes that automatically detect and photograph a smile, warn you when your subject blinks, and correct redeye automatically. 19 Scene modes adjust the camera settings for different common photo situations.

Versatile 26x Optical Zoom
An incredible 26x optical Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens (22.5mm-585mm) with optical VR Image Stabilization brings sharp focus to images taken when you can't get close. Capture stills and movies with 26x optical zoom versatility. A side zoom lever facilitates your control over the optical zoom. The optical VR Image Stabilization minimizes the effects of blur.
HD (720p) Movies With Stereo Sound
With a touch of the dedicated movie record button, you can instantly begin recording amazing HD (720p) movies utilizing the power and scope of the L810's 26x optical zoom. Sound is automatically recorded in stereo. When you want to view your movies on the big screen, the built-in HDMI port makes it easy.
Brilliant 3.0-inch LCD Monitor
Frame and share your stills and movies on the large and sharp 3.0-inch LCD color monitor. Its ultra-high-resolution monitor featuring 921,000 dots shows every detail to precision. Anti-glare coating provides easy viewing of photos and HD movies.
Color Your World Any Shade You Like
Try something new and shoot either stills or movies in different colors such as Nostalgic Sepia for an old fashioned look or Black and White for a vintage feel. You can also choose various color options such as Standard, Vivid or Cyanotype. Add a touch of creativity to your next photo or movie project.
Easy Auto and a Host of Scene Modes
Keep it simple. Let the camera determine the best settings for the job with Easy Auto Mode, including pre-programmed settings for Portrait, Night Portrait, Landscape, Night Landscape and Close-up. When set, the camera will automatically recognize the scene and optimize the camera settings to capture the best shot.
Make Everyone Look Great
Use Nikon's Smart Portrait System with Smile Timer, a mode that automatically recognizes when a subject is smiling. Also included are Blink Warning and Red-Eye Fix. Use the Skin Softening feature to perfect complexion imperfections.

    Nikon 26296B reviews

Coolpix L810 Digital Camera (Blue) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Than Meets the Eye The Quality of the pictures was unexpected. The detail captured was amazing, and closeups? Outstanding. The camera is super easy to use. I wanted professional quality photos but I did not want a complacted camera. I took photography for two years, but my main interest is video, I need photos for many projects so wanted to point and shoot but with professional quality, this was an excellent deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and easy. Takes great pictures. We mostly take pictures of the family and nature around the house. In good lighting, the L810 takes fantastic shots and the 26x zoom is superior. In lower lighting, you do need to have some patience and give it time to focus. Definitely invest in the rechargeable AA NiMH batteries, they work well and you will save money. Regular AA's provide pretty good performance too. The scene button allow for many choices for the type of shot you are taking and they are easy to understand. I don't recall seeing a sepia scene, though. I used to have a Cannon Powershot Digital Elph, and this is a step up, but just as easy to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice light-weight camera I really ordered this for my husband to give me for Christmas, so I haven't used it very much yet. So far though, I am quite happy that it isn't as heavy as the Canon that I was using. I didn't want a camera that was too small because I have trouble with holding a thin camera. This is very comfortable to hold. I like the large display area, but like to use a view finder, which it doesn't have. I like that you have to turn the flash on, manually, but can imagine that many people would forget to plan ahead (which will probably happen to me, too, on occasion). I will probably send in another evaluation when I have had more time to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A feature packed camera; Great price! For just becoming a grandpa for the first time, I knew i needed a new camera. I chose the Nikon Coolpix L810 because of its compact, yet solid feel. The picture quality is fantastic even when using the zoom feature. The video is really good and the audio is great. Overall the camera is a real good deal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Where's the view finder? Although the camera is pretty easy to use I miss the view finder. I have never liked using the screen to take the pictures, I like it just to view them. Also I find it has a hard time focusing so if you want to take pictures of your kid playing soccer (for example) be ready to get awful pictures or have it never take the picture at all because it never focused. I started turning off all the auto features and I think it might work better that way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for what you pay for I use the product for family pictures, mostly outdoor, During the day and at night time. The camera batteries last long, as long as I remember to turn it off when done with taking picture or video. The quality of pictures are OK for what you pay. The video picks up the voice well. To review the picture and video, it has a good size screen, where you can see it at side angels. The size is OK for the features and size of lens (I wish it was smaller but using 4 AA batteries make it bigger.) One issue is the speed of taking several pictures after each other, or continues pictures. The camera takes it's time to process the last job before allow you to take another picture. Don't forget to buy the memory chip since it's not included. If you're using the zoom, you got to mount the camera on a tripod or a solid object, otherwise it will be horrible. The same goes for taking pictures at dim light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Extremely Good Camera and Price This Camera is extremely fun to use with as lot of modes to choose from. Good size and weight. Incredible zoom and good focus using long range zoom. Not very fast focusing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This camera... I wanted to step up from the Sony Cyber shot since I've had 3 and horrible luck with them all This camera is amazing the people who complain about it not being focused and probably not focusing the camera I love it!
