    Nikon 26298B reviews

Coolpix L26 Digital Camera (Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good work camera I use this for taking pictures in attics for work, it is the second one I've had. I dropped and killed the first one. I like that it takes AA batteries because if they die you can zip into a store and you're back in business. I use rechargable batteries to keep costs down. Wide angle and zoom is enough for what I need. Only downside is the tripod thread is plastic and it takes care not to strip it when twisting it on it the dark. Pictures are great. Flash is slow when the batteries start dying. Pretty durable despite the fact that my last one had the screen crack after being dropped 8' but what do you expect?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hight Sophistication In A Small Package I've owned Nikons for years now and have always admired them for their great quality and ease of use. I decided to get a new point & shoot for my wife since her old one was ten years old and was giving her grief with the downloading on her computer. As it turned out it wasn't the camera's fault at all but some misadjustment with the software. I picked this particular camera because it uses AA batteries, it's small size, super large screen & bright red color. Even though I like the rechargable batteries on my large DSLR and don't mind the maintenance, I didn't think she would want to deal with it. The two little AA batteries are the nicest feature since they are much much cheaper than what the old camera used and far easier to find. Everything on this camera is so straight forward and easy to use, just perfect for the novice or someone that just wants to get some quick candid shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coolpix L26: Good Product Nikon Coolpix L26 appears an excellent choice for family and travel photography for most people. Compact (not tiny) size fits pockets well. Controls are well-designed with dedicated movie button. Easy-Auto mode covers most conditions, with enough optional settings to satisfy most. Images are clear. Not a hard-core high-end camera; simply what most people will really need. B&H service was prompt and product arrived in good condition.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great little starter camera I bought this camera as a first camera for my 8 year old grandson. I asked the B and H salesperson for a recommendation, explained the use of the camera (including the age of the user)and they suggested the L26 Nikon. It has a reasonable zoom, easy controls, and takes AA batteries which I feel is a plus for a young user. Haven't seen any photos yet, but it was a huge hit with my grandson. Great choice. Thanks Abe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Affordable Option The main downside is that since it is a AA battery-powered camera, it takes a while sometimes for the picture to be taken. At the refurbished price point I paid, however, it is a worthwhile purchase for someone who needs a camera to take decent pictures but doesn't have the budget to get something fancier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT LITTLE CAMERA I carry my L26 whenever I leave the house here in northern Maine. Many's the time I have come upon moose, deer, lnyx, bear and other wildlive and gotten a pic before they could disappear. This is my third Nikon L series camera, and for the money, ease of operation, it can't be beat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Budget Camera I needed a camera for a trip that uses batteries, and I wont care if i lose it. This camera is a great budget camera with your basic photo customization, and it takes video. Its not great quality video, and the pictures look a bit faded without the flash, but it does the job.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nope Unfortunately, the image stabilization feature does not work reliably. I returned the camera. It was actually the second L26 I tried, having given Nikon the benefit of the doubt on the first one.
