Ruggard Triumph 15 overview

  • 1Description

Shaped like a backpack, the black Triumph 15 Sling Bag from Ruggard holds a compact DSLR with a lens attached and a flash in the main camera compartment. Built for everyday photography, this bag features a hard 600D Oxford Nylon exterior that is water-repellant and a side flap that allows you to easily access your DSLR from the main compartment. You can do so without removing the bag from your shoulder. While you can access the DSLR from the side flap, the main compartment of the bag is designed to rest against your back for protection against theft.

When you need to access the bag, the main compartment opens and closes with a zipper and has five padded, adjustable interior dividers. Smaller personal or photo items can be stored in the top compartment at the front, as well as in the front pouch, which has an internal organizer. A compact or travel tripod can be placed in the tripod holder. The holder itself features a set of attachment straps and two pockets.

Tucked into the back padding is a waist strap for better support carrying the sling bag, and a rain cover that can be detached if you need to dry it out. The sling strap on the Triumph is padded and features an adjustable quick-release buckle. The bag can be carried using the sling strap and lifted using the top or side grip handles.

    Ruggard Triumph 15 reviews

Triumph 15 Sling Bag is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from All-Around Bag This is a great all-around bag. Prior to this, I only have a small camera bag that fit a Canon T3 and the kit lens. But since my T3 died on me and decided to buy a 60D, I've decided to invest on a bigger camera bag. The Triumph 15 Ruggard is a great bag in my opinion. I have 3 lenses, a couple of filters, a set of extension tubes, plus I also have a 35mm film camera (Nikon FG), a compact Canon point and shoot camera, 2 chargers, cables for the camera, my SD cards, and they ALL fit into this bag. I also have a tripod which I can put on the side of this bag. I ride a bicycle a lot so this sling bag is really the right one for me (it feels secure too, water resistant, & has a rain cap).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag!!! I called B&H and asked them about different bags to carry my Sony A77 and GoPro for Snowmobiling and fishing. They suggested this bag at first I wasn't sure about the sling, but when they said I could try it and if I didn't like it I could return it, so I did. AND I AM GLAD I took their advice, it worked great when I stopped and swung it around to get great shots and faster than my regular backpack, I didn't have any problems with snow getting in it, I can take it anywhere. This is a great bag. I am very pleased and would ask B&H again, they really know their stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bag for a DX kit. I purchased the Triumph 35 initially but returned it as it was too big. This Triumph 15 is perfect. It fits my d7000 with 18-140mm, a 35mm f/1.8 and sb900 flash, a pack of filters, and the camera battery charger all in the main camera compartment leaving the top compartment free for my stuff or another telephoto zoom or a few primes. The front pocket carries camera caps, sb900 filters, hot shoe foot, and some cords. All in all the d7000 is a bit of a tight squeeze through the side opening but it sits in there safe with a bit of room on the side for a hand strap. I looked at Vanguard, Crumpler, Lowepro, Kata, Tenba, Manfrotto, and a bunch of other brand offerings and this was the only bag that offered a small outer form factor with a large inner compartment, and a bunch of extra little things about the bag make it ideal for my kit and leaves some space for future additions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly to Sturdy Even though it was not for me (I returned it) the case is well made and sturdy, almost to sturdy. Why did I return it? The bag is very stiff and hard to get gear in and out. Only the small side opening allowed you access when used as a sling bag, the other gear is only accessible from the rear of the bag, thus you have to take it off to unzip the secondary section for gear. Again if you are looking for something that is rugged, this bag is for you, I was looking for something more soft sided, lighter, and had access to all gear while using it as a sling bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for all my camera gear I chose this bag as I wanted to be able to carry all my camera gear when hiking/biking. The Triumph 15 Sling Bag holds my Lumix FZ200 and Lumix FH20 P&S plus accessories - spare batteries, charger, cables, memory cards, cleaning supplies and remote shutter. The main compartment is secure and has customizable dividers to protect sensitive items. This area is against your back, when packing, but has an easy access door to reach the camera without taking off the pack. I like the top outside compartment where I can carry a light jacket and some snacks. Straps on the outside are handy when you want to carry along a tripod. When not using the pack for outdoor trips, It is great for keeping all my gear organized and easy to find. The bag is very well constructed and looks quite durable. A rain fly is attached and stows handily in a pouch so it isn't apt to get misplaced.I like the relatively small size of this bag. I think it will be easy to carry while hiking or riding my bike. It could even double as a daypack, without all the camera gear. The only con I can find is that the flaps on the openings to the compartments are not real flexible, making it a little cumbersome accessing the interiors. However, the stiffness is due to the excellent padding provided to protect the contents of the bag - an important design element. I'm sure I will get used to this, as I become accustomed to using the bag. I would recommend this to anyone with more than just a pocket camera looking for a compact bag that is easy to carry and can store everything you might need for photographing on the trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bag For Packing the essentials I have packed this bag with all my most needed and most often used equipment on many hikes into deep wooded areas with exceptional results. Very comfortable and user friendly. Cant beat the price and quality. Impressive how sturdy and well built it is along with knowing I don't have to worry about my equipment getting dammaged if I take a hard fall. I often use it to go deep into the outdoors with my mountain bike as well as into everyday parks! Don't hesitate. It does come in larger sizes if you feel you need it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent design and construction but a bit small I bought this as a bag to just grab and go without brining my larger sized bag. I can throw it over my shoulder or over my head. I liked the idea of the quick access side pouch but it is a little too small for my Nikon D610 and it takes considerable effort to extract my camera from the side pocket as the eye cup or hot shoe often get caught on the zipper. The other disappointment was that there was just enough room for my camera w/ lens plus one other lens. (I generally take a AF-S 14-85 ED VR and AF-S 70-300mm). With those in the pack I could not even comfortably fit an extra 50 prime. I use the top compartment for my flash if I need it. So for what I wanted it works pretty well. It is well padded and I can throw it in the back seat and bring a minimalist set a gear with me anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triumph 15 sling bag by Ruggard I keep my three lens in it along with my Canon T3i camera. I would not want it any bigger. This is big enough for me to handle. It holds only my T3i but I carry my Panasonic DMC FX7 in my fanny pack. It works fine for my requirements.
