Ruggard Triumph 35 overview

  • 1Description

Shaped like a backpack, the black Triumph 35 Sling Bag from Ruggard holds a DSLR with an attached lens, two compact lenses, and two flashes in the main camera compartment. Built for everyday photography, this bag features a hard 600D Oxford Nylon exterior that is water-repellant and a side flap that allows you to easily access your DSLR from the main compartment. You can do so without removing the bag from your shoulder. While you can access the DSLR from the side flap, the main compartment of the bag is designed to rest against your back for protection against theft.

When you need to access the bag, the main compartment opens and closes with a zipper and has five padded, adjustable interior dividers. Smaller personal or photo items can be stored in the top compartment at the front, as well as in the front pouch, which has an internal organizer. A compact or travel tripod can be placed in the tripod holder. The holder itself features a set of attachment straps and two pockets.

Tucked into the back padding is a waist strap for better support carrying the sling bag, and a rain cover that can be detached if you need to dry it out. The sling strap on the Triumph is padded and features an adjustable quick-release buckle. The bag can be carried using the sling strap and lifted using the top or side grip handles.

    Ruggard Triumph 35 reviews

Triumph 35 Sling Bag is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hike Tested My equipment collection for photography had outgrown the original carrying case and I needed something that was more functional on hikes as well as day to day use. This worked very well. I took it on short walks and some mile long hikes. It kept me much better balanced and made it very easy to have all my gear accessible quickly. I felt my equipment was very protected and it didn't seem to move around at all. I was even able to use the compact tripod space as a water bottle holder. I guess the only thing I'd like to see is an easier way to modify it for a full length tripod and a little bit more weight distribution but certainly don't disregard it because of those.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value in a Large Sling Bag I use this bag to store my whole micro 4/3 kit. Shown are 8 lenses, 3 flashes, wireless and timer remote, spare batteries for everything, surui tripod, various other things and an OMD EM5. There is easily room for another body or two and more lenses! The clip equipped shoulder-strap is better than expected, the clip makes it easy to strap on. I think it could be improved by making the top strap longer and the bottom strap shorter as the buckle is very close to my clavicle. This downgrades the comfort for me. (I am 6'3 tall) This isn't the perfect bag for me but it sure holds all my gear and keeps it protected and in one place. If you are like most photographers, you will own more than one bag. This one I've found to be a useful addition to my collection. This is a good value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little bag - great customer service! I've had two (the 35 and the 55; I'll explain later) of these bags for a little over two years now, and as the name of the line implies, the Sling bag slings over your shoulder, then quickly whips around to your the front for easy access to a side pocket storage area. Bonus for you video shooters: You can use the bag as a stabilizer when it's out in front. And Ruggard has excellent customer service! When one of the accessory pockets zippers failed, I sent it in to be fixed - despite the fact that it was 3-6 mos. past warranty. Imagine my surprise when Ruggard sent me a new bag, and the Triumph 55 at that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile bag for camera gear I was looking for something to carry my camera equipment when I go to my children's sporting events. Key issues for me were the overall size of the bag and the ability to protect my equipment. This bag has delivered on both for me. The bag is well made and well padded but is still fairly compact and lightweight. I have not used the tripod pocket or the rain cover so I can not speak to either of those items. I like the variety of areas/pockets available for storage. While the main compartment is designed to allow you to have easy access to a camera with a smaller lens already mounted to it. I have found that I can use this area (by rearranging the sections) to store a camera body, 150-500 zoom and a 70-300 zoom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient but not perfect First off, I like this bag quite a bit. It's comfortable, it has a surprisingly large amount of space, and plenty of excellent features that I love having (a rain cover, tripod pocket/carrier, etc.). It's easy to sling the bag around and access the side pocket to quickly get to my camera. On the downside, the bag is a bit bulkier than I anticipated but it isn't horrible. The biggest complaint is that I have to take the bag off and sit it down somewhere to access the extra pockets: if I want to switch out a lens, in particular. Also, the straps on the bag are somewhat awkward and placed in an odd location (it has a waist strap that isn't all that necessary and kind of gets in the way). All in all, I do like the bag quite a bit, overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice sling backpack I really like this bag. It fits comfortably works really well. I use it when bike riding (mostly paved trails; not sure I would take this mountain biking) as well as just walking around.I do have 2 minor complaints. The first is that the bag access panel on the back I would prefer it if it would open a little further. Probably so that one can fold it over and have just open access. The second is that its a little snug when I slide it down to pull out my camera. This makes it a little cumbersome to pull out my camera. That's just a personal thing; other's mileage may vary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This is exactly what I was looking for. I already have a full size back pack and wanted something a little smaller that is able to hold the essentials I needed on a daily basis. Not only was this bag perfect but it exceeds my expectations. There is easy access for the main storage area as well as side access for the camera with the lens attached plus there is additional space for another camera. Then there are more compartments for extra equipment. There is also a build in rain cover. Finally, it's a slingback which is more convenient and comfortable. I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hard Choices Pretty good pack, but I should have stayed with the next size up. I changed my mind at the last minute and I wish didn't. Buying a backpack is difficult, so many choices and unless you get put your hands on all of them, It's a guess. Let's face it, there is not one pack for all situations. This unit works good. The padding is good and I think it will hold up under heavey use. Forget putting a tripod on it though.
