Ruggard Triumph 45 overview

  • 1Description

Shaped like a backpack, the black Triumph 45 Sling Bag from Ruggard holds a DSLR with a battery grip, an attached zoom lens, two flashes and an extra zoom lens in the main camera compartment. Built for everyday photography, this bag features a hard 600D Oxford Nylon exterior that is water-repellant and a side flap that allows you to easily access your DSLR from the main compartment. You can do so without removing the bag from your shoulder. While you can access the DSLR from the side flap, the main compartment of the bag is designed to rest against your back for protection against theft.

When you need to access the bag, the main compartment opens and closes with a zipper and has five padded, adjustable interior dividers. Smaller personal or photo items can be stored in the top compartment at the front, as well as in the front pouch, which has an internal organizer. A compact or travel tripod can be placed in the tripod holder. The holder itself features a set of attachment straps and two pockets.

Tucked into the back padding is a waist strap for better support carrying the sling bag, and a rain cover that can be detached if you need to dry it out. The sling strap on the Triumph is padded and features an adjustable quick-release buckle. The bag can be carried using the sling strap and lifted using the top or side grip handles.

    Ruggard Triumph 45 reviews

Triumph 45 Sling Bag is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sling/backpack mix I have loved this bag! Its tough and comfortable. I use it for carting around gear mostly in the woods. It will be bigger than you think. this is because of the upper compartment (which, by the way you can put gear in too if you want) the optional 3rd strap does a good job turning it semi into a backpack and allowing you to swing it around and access the back panel. It has a hard bottom so you can set it down in wet. it has two down sides (the reason for the four star) 1. the back panel used to access all of the gear does not open all the way so stuff on the bottom is hard to get at. 2. the tripod holder should have more strap and less pocket. it works but not great. Other than these things I have loved this bag!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grown to love it Sling-style bags and cases are a wonderful invention, however at this size is where you start to encounter tradeoffs. The Triumph 45 Sling Bag is indeed a sling bag in concept; however being the size of a small backpack, the bulk of it can hinder the sling function if you're not patient (or strong enough), but more on that later. The construction of this bag is excellent; I found all the seams and stitching to be strong, the padding on the straps and back is excellent, the zippers are a good quality and the clips, while plastic, do not feel near as cheap to me as others have said. The included rain cover is a nice touch that tucks neatly away when not in use. While the side Tripod compartment isn't designed for full-sized tripods, I find the straps and retaining system sufficient to hold one for short periods, but I wouldn't want to hike with one attached for long distances. The bag is incredibly spacious and efficiently laid-out for the size; all the dividers are adjustable to different positions, and the hammock area (that holds the body/attached lens and is accessible through the side sling access) is large enough to accommodate a standard body and grip, and also holds my flash in its case. I do wish the interior was a different color (such as the yellow of the exterior accents); other manufacturers use bright colors for their interiors which can make it much easier to find smaller components inside when there is low light. I find the bag to be quite secure; the main innards are accessible through a hatch on the rear, meaning when you're wearing the bag the hatch is against your back; much less easy for unwanted wandering hands to access. My only complaint here are the elastic bands at the bottom of the hatch, forcing you to hold it open when you need to access gear, but this is a minor issue. The side sling access for the body/lens requires three steps to open - a plastic clip, a dual zipper and some Velcro. There is virtually no way someone could pick that pocket without you noticing. Only the top/front compartments are easily accessible from the outside, thus where I keep cheap incidentals, and even then there are mesh pockets in the compartments that would be difficult to pilfer. The only drawbacks I can really find deal with the bulk and weight; the bag by itself is not that heavy, however given all it can hold it can gain mass quickly. My current kit consists of: -SLR Body with attached 18-200 Lens -70-200 Lens and hood -Shoe flash in case -28-75 Lens -50mm prime -Extension tubes -Spare batteries, charger, remote, diffuser, cleaning kit, etc. With all this, the bag rings in at 13 pounds which doesn't sound like much, until you try to sling it around to access the side hatch. You'd better have some decent shoulder strength, or you might just fall over! This is not meant to be a quick-draw sling; I doubt you'd be able to unholster your DSLR in just a few seconds to snap that once-in-a-lifetime split-second shot; however for folks looking for a durable, convenient way to handle a decent amount of gear for a day trip or job, this bag would be more than sufficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ruggard's triumph 45 Slingbag the soluti As an unsteady older photographer using two forearm crutches I've long sought a conveniently accessible pack for my gear. This Triumph45 is finally the answer! Easy to swing into position for access to all compartments while one arm and crutch keep me stable! It's padding is comfortable and it easily settles into a well-balanced position when slung to the back. its construction is durable...strong stitching and strong, tough outer fabric suggestive of a far more expensive pack. Definitely a great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bag...even for women I was very excited to get this sling bag. I needed something that would hold lots of lenses but I wouldn't need to put down to access. This fits the bill exactly Comfortable to wear with or without waist belt. Looking forward to breaking it in, in the next few weeks. I am very short and it is still very comfortable to wear. It's not a small bag. It's very bulky but that is okay with me....there is always a tradeoff when you want to carry as many lenses and flashes and what not, as you can.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for the price+Recommendati I bought the Ruggard Triumph 45 Sling bag and immediatly took it for a 7 day trip. It has great pockets and room for everything you need and then some (I had a Canon 70D with a 17-55 lens, 50 mm lens and enough room for external flash and even a 70-200 lens, gloves, 3 sets of filters, wallet...). The slig is well padded and was very comfortable on my sholder. You might want to consider a backpack if you have a problem with the fact that you have to pick it up in a cetain way and through it only on one sholder and not the other. The tripod holder was very efficient but make sure you buckle it back as it might fall out of the loop that's holidng it and be lost.As a personal preference, I would have loved to see it in other colors other than black.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent sling bag I selected this bag after a VERY thorough selection process based on specs. You can read the whole thing here http://www.jorgedardon.com/2017-camera-bags-by-specs In summary likes: - Excellent construction and materials - Main camera compartment can expand into upper miscellaneous compartment - Main camera compartment can expand more by opening one zipper - Very wide side access door for fast extraction of camera - Very efficient in terms of space and weight Dislikes: - No rubber feet or extra hard protection on the bottom of the bag - Rain cover is black only, so no silver side to keep the bag contents cool while under strong sun (as in the beach, island or desert) - Back door only covers the main camera compartment (it should cover all of the back) - No hybrid mode

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, but a bit bulky I bought this to use when I am doing on-location photography. It easily holds all of the gear I need, but there are few things that I don't like about it. First, the compartments to hold lens, etc. are a bit too big, even for my flash and my biggest lens. The dividers don't fit snuggly around my equipment, which makes me concerned that it could be damaged. Also, quick access compartment for my camera is also too big. There is nothing on the sides of the camera to keep it from getting jostled around, which is not good. I am going to have to roll up some pieces of foam to put on the sides to keep my camera in place. I bought this bag instead of the next smallere size because the salesperson I spoke to about it on the phone said that I would not be able to fit a full-size camera into the top compartment made for storing a second camera, and I think that is probably true after seeing the bag I purchased.
