    Manfrotto 200PL reviews

200PL Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw and 3/8" Bushing Adapter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 364.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not quite what I expected One plate on each camera - great. But I was looking for a plate which would allow me to remove my camera and change the battery and memory card without having to unscrew and screw a plate on my Canon. Speed is essential when photographing or videoing wildlife. I am sure someone could develop such a plate. I am also concerned that the continual screwing and unscrewing is going to distort the camera body. I have 3 camcorders costing 200 which avoids bot problems, long lasting battery and tape as well as a tough body. Been using them for. It is a pity the camera/tripod mounting system is not given more thought by the camera and tripod manufacturers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works like the original This replacement works like the original plate. It's too bad that the alignment pin for camcorders has to be permanently pushed in to one of the holes rendering it a pain to use with still cameras. The original had a pin that could be screwed up and down to suit the usage. Cheap tripod quick release plates use a spring-loaded alignment pin. What keeps Manfrotto from doing the same?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy one of these for all your gear I use Manfrotto 200PL Quick Release Plates on my monopod and my tripod. The plates attach to the tripod collar of my lenses (that have them) and to the camera itself for use with the other lenses. Now I can switch out lenses, cameras, tripods and monopods quickly and not worry about having different connectors to waste time changing. The plates attach securely and quickly to my gear and provide a rock solid connection. I can't ask for more than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from B&H sends exactly what I expect This was not a big purchase. But it was important to me to get exactly what I expected, and at a great price. The Manfrotto Quick release Plates are essential to using my tripod and ensuring the safety and security of my gear. B&H has been my go to for ordering photo gear and accessories for years now, and I expect them to remain in that category! Good product, good service and good prices. A great confidence building deal!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Plate The plates are used in a education atmosphere. They are used everyday. It keep the camera placed on the tripod firm. The plate is easy to use and inserts into the camera perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get enough plates I bought a pan/tilt head which came with one quick release plate. For quick release to work well (not having to move the plate from one device to another) get a plate for each camera body and for you long lenses so you don't have to swap your plate around. Regardless of which combination of equipment you select you can just mount it on the tripod and shoot. One of my cameras does require me to remove the plate to swap the battery or the card but that is as much camera design as it is release plate. **Sigh** Charge your battery and use a big card!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Luxury With 2 camera bodies and any large telephoto lens, it's worth a few bucks to have a second quick release plate so that I'm not fumbling around unscrewing one plate to move to another body or lens. This means less time handling camera parts and more time and energy going into shooting, not to mention the risk of showing up with camera and tripod, but no attachment. It's a simple luxury worth a few bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Job I have a Manfrotto video head, so I just thought I would get an extra plate, for fast swapping cameras or in case I lose one. I've had the head for 6 months now, and the plate feels very, very solid. The rubber pad grips the camera base very firmly without having to apply too much pressure to the screw. The metal D ring makes it easy to tighten without stopping to dig out a coin or screwdriver. My only complaint is that you have to be careful to check the direction of the camera, it only locks in one way - luckily the underside has an arrow!
