The Audiophile Desktop System from CEntrance, Inc. is a bundle designed to provide you with up to 24-bit/96kHz USB driven digital to analog conversion and 50 watt amplification. For audio playback from your computer system, the Audiophile Desktop System features the DACmini PX DAC with Headphone and Power Amplifiers, a pair of MasterClass 2504 Coplanar Coaxial Speakers, and a Reserve Series Banana Plug Speaker Cable.
While capable of being integrated into other audio systems, CEntrance designed the DACmini PX, the MasterClass 2504s and the Reserve Series Banana Plug Speaker Cable to be a matched system. The output of the power amp in the DACmini PX is limited to match the MasterClass 2504's power rating, which lowers the risk of clipping and distortion even when fully driven. The power amp was also tuned to match the 2504's speaker and crossover impedance, matching them for clearer output. The Reserve Series Banana Speaker Cable was designed specifically for the Audiophile Desktop System to preserve transparency and stereo imaging.
The DACmini PX digital to analog converter features playback of up to 24-bit/96kHz digital audio via its USB port. It also houses a Class A headphone amplifier and a Class D power amplifier capable of output up to 50 watts. Two RCA line inputs allow you to connect external analog audio sources such as an MP3 or CD player to unit.
The MasterClass 2504 Speakers features a speaker assembly that contains both the tweeter and woofer. This design allows the high, mid, and low frequencies to reach your ear at the same time. The simultaneous arrival time eliminates high and low frequency interference, resulting in a more accurate sound reproduction.
The Reserve Series Banana Plug Speaker Cable features gold-plated terminals for lower connection impedance and higher analog accuracy. The Audiophile Desktop DAC and Speaker System also includes a USB cable, providing all the necessary cables to set-up your computer audio system.
DACmini PX DAC with Headphone and Power Amplifiers
The DACmini PX DAC, Headphone, and Power Amplifier from CEntrance, Inc. is a digital to audio converter capable of conversions up to 24-bit and 192kHz. It is comprised of three components: a digital to audio converter, a Class A headphone amplifier, and a Class D power amplifier. It can drive up to 600Ω headphones and has a 50-watt speaker output for playback of digital audio from your computer or from external analog sources.
Created with a USB chip that provides class-compliance, the DACmini PX works with a variety of computer audio systems such as Mac OSX, Windows, and Linux without the need for drivers. It has a USB input capable of playback of digital audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. The unit also features a S/PDIF input for sample rates up to 192kHz. The inclusion of stereo RCA line inputs allows you to connect external analog audio sources such as the audio output of a DVD player or TV, a CD player, or an MP3 player.
The DACmini PX features a physical design that is optimized to eliminate common electrical interference such as ground hum and RF. A grounded volume knob, isolated analog and digital signal paths, a transformer isolated power supply and an RF blocking aluminum enclosure all reduce electrical noise, resulting in accurate audio conversion.
Audio signal path with full galvanic isolation prevents RF interference by avoiding ground loops. By suspending the DAC chip and RCA jacks, physical connection between the digital and analog circuitry is prevented, resulting in quiet audio performance
Digital signal path with JitterGuard Technology for accurate conversion
Split-ground design, transformer-isolated power supply is located on its own individual 4-layer PCB, which is grounded and shielded inside the unit to avoid interfering with the audio circuitry
Tongue-and-groove, RF-blocking aluminum enclosure acts as an EMC shield and to block outside RF interference
Shielded cavity for source selection circuitry
Smart source selection and power switch will not break the USB connection when you navigate away from USB, which prevents having to physically reconnect to your computer
Heavyweight, aluminum volume knob is grounded to avoid any buzzing when touched
Drop-protection pot guard rail and EMC barrier protects the potentiometers in case the unit is dropped
Internal anti-vibration chassis stabilizer and EMC barrier limits vibrations which result in microphonics and distortion
MasterClass 2504 Coplanar Coaxial Speakers (Pair)
The CEntrance MasterClass 2504 Coplanar Coaxial Speakers (Pair) employ a coplanar coaxial design, confining the tweeter and woofer into the same speaker assembly. This creates a single point source for all frequencies the MasterClass 2504s produce, allowing high, mid, and low frequencies to reach your ears at the same time. The simultaneous arrival eliminates interference between high and low frequencies.
The MasterClass 2504 also features a custom passive crossover network, built using oxygen free copper, core-less coil, and a low leakage printed circuit board which assures minimal phase shift and distortion when splitting the audio signal between the tweeter and woofer. The tuned bass reflex port allows for sound from the rear of the speaker to increase overall bass output, boosting the low end performance.
The dual-coil driver confines the woofer and the tweeter within the same shielded driver assembly allowing for precise alignment of the drivers' emanating planes. It ensures that all audio frequencies arriving at your ears come from the same spot in space, not from several different places
Both moving tweeter and woofer coils use the same magnet, making the two drivers sound like one
The solid metal enclosure assures shielding from RF frequencies and results in cleaner sound reproduction, free from unwanted interference
Feet are bolted, not glued on, and have a foam bottom to prevent scratching
Gold-plated binding post inputs ensure corrosion free operation and lowers the electrical impedance of the connection
Reserve Series Banana Plug Speaker Cable
The Reserve Series Banana Plug Speaker Cable from CEntrance, Inc. is an 8' (2.5m) dual banana plug cable. It features gold-plated terminals on both the termination ends for lower connection impedance. This helps increase clarity while the connectors' gunmetal bodies allow for strong protection against physical damage. The Reserve Series has a braided outer shield that keeps the three-layer core safe by preventing the cable from bending.
Designed to work as an interconnect cable between CEntrance's DACmini PX DAC and the Masterclass 2504 speakers, the Reserve Series Banana Plug Speaker Cable works in any audio environment where you need a banana plug connection.
CEntrance's proprietary MultiBraid technology provides for high audio reproduction quality
