The Swedish Chameleon SC3:LARGE Follow Focus Video Rig is Swedish Chameleon's basic eye-level SC3 rig configuration for DSLRs and for box-style camcorders. It includes a belt-driven follow-focus and features a waist belt system wherein a back rod connects into a waist belt and captures all the weight of the rig, relieving the weight off of your arms and affording you more comfort to concentrate on shooting.

The follow focus is Swedish Chameleon's innovative SC3:FFOCUS for still lenses. It is a one-rod-mount follow focus with a unique belt-driven system in place of the traditional gear wheel system. It is compatible with any diameter still lens and it pulls focus accurately without any play. (For cinema lenses, you can optionally interchange the belt system for Swedish Chameleon's "SC3:Gear 44" gear wheel system. Or, you can use the belt system, but the focus will be "too accurate" as the rotation will require more turns than usual.) Please click on "What's in the Box" above and then click on "SC3:FFOCUS" to learn more about the follow focus.

The rig's head and shoulder pad have three rod-clamps for standard 15mm rods. Two of the clamps are for iris rods, with the height between them and a lens being easily adjustable, and the third clamp, a perpendicular clamp, is for an optional Swedish Chameleon SC3:XTENSION kit and for other mounting alternatives you can think of. (The XTENSION kit is a set of different-sized rods that reconfigure the SC3:LARGE to let you switch between eye-level and chest-level handling of a mounted camera. The kit also equips the rig with a carry handle and a place to mount an optional monitor. In all, you'd be able to have the camera at chest-level and use a monitor to see what you're shooting.)

The rig comes with a quick release adapter and with a 501 PL Manfrotto camera plate. The adapter can be rotated up to 90°. The rig's shoulder plate is made of super strong aluminum and has a neoprene-dressed foam pad that eases out heavy loads and levels the shoulder pad for secure and stabilized shooting. Also included is a water, dust and shock protection case that's prepared for locking and features two layers of shock-absorbing foam.
