The Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D800, D800E and D810 with MB-D12 Battery Grip allows you to quickly change the orientation of your Nikon D800, D800E or D810 on its Arca-compatible tripod head when the camera is being used with the MB-D12 battery grip. Simply loosen the clamp, rotate the camera/grip/bracket, and re-clamp. By reorienting while using the L-Bracket, you won't upset your shooting position, and there's no need for the extensive re-leveling that becomes necessary when you tilt most heads 90°. The bracket allows full access to all switches and battery drawers.

Machined from a single piece of lightweight 6061T6 aluminum alloy.
L-Bracket allows the use of a camera strap.
1/4"-20 screw for connecting to battery grip.
Sensor-centering lines for both horizontal and vertical orientation. These help you position the camera properly within the ball head's Arca-style clamp.
Made in the USA.

    L-Bracket for Nikon D800, D800E and D810 with MB-D12 Battery Grip is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from No 3rd. Party Battery Grips Yes, Kirk makes a great product, and this is no exception. However, I had a Vello battery grip designed for the D810 and it worked okay. I saved a ton of money going to the 3rd. party on the battery grip but the Kirk L bracket does not fit with it. You cannot open the side doors at all and cannot open the battery compartment of the grip to remove the battery for charging without removing the entire L bracket from the camera. I gave it three stars because the build quality is excellent. I wish the literature on the website specified that only the Nikon battery grip will fit. Would have saved me time in ordering, waiting, returning, reordering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steady as a rock I won an auction for a Kirk BH1 ballhead last month and wanted to get the matching grip for my d800. I've used this twice so far and I've noticed a difference in how steady my camera is and how quick and easy the grip makes it for me to go from horizontal to vertical shots. The grip is very solid feeling and fits perfectly on the camera and motor drive. It's also nice to be able to access the ports on the side of the camera without taking the grip off. Like a lot of the other reviews I read on this before buying it, I could complain about the price. I'm countering that feeling by telling myself that the grip feels so good and solid that I should never need another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be without it Like the my previous five Kirks L-brackets this one fits the D800e like a glove. Given the cameras high resolution it makes this product indispensable for tripod work..and for vertical pano's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy and very useful piece of equipment This bracket does exactly what it is supposed to -- provide a solid support for my camera, regardless of its orientation. This, plus making it easy to change them without having to change how your tripod is set up to frame a subject makes it really worthwhile. Until you use one, you don't really understand how easy an L-bracket makes it to do. Definitely a worthwhile purchase and something that should be on everyone's list. I leave mine on most of the time, removing it only when I know I will not be using my tripod at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Perfectly... I tried a number of different L-Brackets from the various manufacturers for my D800/MB-D12 .This one is by far the best fit/quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and Spendy This L-bracket is really well constructed as are all Kirk plates and brackets I've purchased in the past. Yep, it's really expensive for a small piece of metal but given that it's bound to be attaching a small fortune in camera body and glass to your tripod, you can be rest assured that it won't ever fail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what is says Like other Kirk products the L bracket for the D800 with the Nikon battery grip fits like a glove while allowing access to the battery door and accessory connections. It will not work, however, with 3rd party battery grips. In use the L bracket allows you to easily switch from Horizontal to vertical position on an Arca-Swiss style ball head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shame on Kirk for this one! What a surprise to receive this Kirk L-Bracket for my D810, and to find out they haven't redesigned it, but rather just kept the same bracket that was used for the D800 and D800-E, rationalizing that there was not enough design changes in the body style of the D810 to warrant a re-design of their own bracket.I called Kirk on this one, and as nice as they are, and as beautifully made as this piece of gear is, I had trouble accepting their rational on this one.Normally a Kirk bracket rides tight in to the camera and allows easy access to the side doors and battery. With this bracket, there is no way you can open all the side doors without unloosening the bracket screw and sliding the whole bracket out as far out as possible, which when done, even though there is a huge gap between the bracket and the camera, does finally allow the doors to barely open, but as discussed, not through the bracket, but in spite of the bracket. (And what about the plastic keepers Nikon includes for the cables to be held securely?) Fuhgeddaboudit. So if you are in the field, or even doing casual shooting and are using one of Kirk's excellent ball heads, you had better carry an allen wrench with you, or get used to having a big gap between the camera and the L-bracket. FYI- this bracket will work ONLY with the Nikon battery grip - NO after-market grip will fit.I'm very disappointed in Kirk on this one, and feel badly about it because I own and use a great deal of their well made, well designed gear.Everyone is entitled to strike out once in a while.
