question

Can the included camera mount be replaced with a regular ball mount?
Asked by: Ralph K.
The clamp's attached tripod-head unscrews from the base of the U-shaped clamp. There is a screw hole in the base of the U-shaped clamp, so if the screw on your ball-head fits, you can replace the tripod-head attached to the clamp. The screw that fits the base of the clamp appears to be the standard one used for mounting a tripod-head to a camera: I unattached the clamp's tripod-head and it did attach to my Samsung WB800F.

question

how wide the mount of the Tether Tools EasyGrip XL? I need to use it on a railing of a church balcony. The width of the railing is less than 4 , which is compatible with this clamp. But there are smaller boards which are perpendicular to the railing. The gap between each little board is 3/4 of an inch. So one end of the clamp has to fit between two of those boards in order for me to use this. I plan to buy up to four of them to mount video cameras for a choir I film twice a year. The next show is Dec. 10. Thank you for your help.

Without a graphic it is difficult to visualize your situation, but I did measure the outer width of the jaws: It is 5 and 5/16 inches near the tripod mount tapering slightly as one moves to the clamp, at that point is about 5 and 1/16 inches. I also measured the maximum width of the clamp opening and it is 4 and 1/16 inches, but you may get 4 and 1/8 inches since one side of the jaw at that point is a little soft. Hope all this helps. question

Can you please let me know how much it weighs?
Asked by: William L.
The width of the metal near the knob is 1 inch, and the width of the metal on the opposite side is 1 and 1/8 inches near the clamp and 1 inch near the tripod mount; the extra 1/8 is due to the vinyl cushion wrapped around the metal. the width of the metal at the base of the jaws is 1 inch.Without a graphic it is difficult to visualize your situation, but I did measure the outer width of the jaws: It is 5 and 5/16 inches near the tripod mount tapering slightly as one moves to the clamp, at that point is about 5 and 1/16 inches.
