question
This unit incorporates the functions of the Bridge, right? I.e., if you're getting a Connect, a Bridge would be redundant?
S/w updated about six months ago fixed that. No, you don't need to have a bridge anymore but a nice to have

question
Can I use the Sonos Connect to draw music source FROM (not: TO) my receiver (which would output music sources from CDs, Tuner, BD, even Phono...) to a series of wirelessly linked Sonos speakers?
The Connect has RCA input, so you can plug auxiliary devices directly into the Sonos component. However, connecting the Connect to your existing Amplifier will not give you access to the it's auxiliary devices...IE CD players, DVD players etc. I have a discreet Sonos system in my home gym (4 play 1's, Sub, Playbar), and I use the Sonos Connect in our Home Theater to take advantage of all the great streaming options, while playing them through the existing speakers and sub woofer. I use it everyday for a whole house music system.

question
Can I connect this to a powered sub? I have a play bar and would like to use my existing sub.
I believe the answer is No, but I suggest contacting SONOS technical support.
