Key Features
  • Compact Ultra-telephoto Mirror Lens
  • 600mm Focal Length in 35mm Equivalency
  • Designed for Micro Four-Thirds Mounts
The 300mm f/6.3 Reflex Telephoto Macro Lens for MFT Mount from Tokina is a compact, ultra-telephoto lens designed specifically for mirrorless compact cameras using a micro four-thirds (MFT) mount. We can classify this lens as an ultra-telephoto because its 35mm focal length equivalency is 600mm, bringing distant objects very close. A catadioptric (mirror) lens designed for mirrorless cameras, this lens is quite compact, but its all metal barrel ensures durability.

The lens has a fixed aperture of f/6.3 and is manual focusing. An extra-wide focus ring and smooth focusing action allow for ease of operation and accurate telephoto focusing. Its multi-layer lens coatings minimize reflections and optical aberrations and being a catadioptric lens, chromatic aberration is virtually non-existent. Telephoto lenses are ideal for shooting wildlife, flowers and natural scenes and this is a perfect lens to get creative with the latest mirrorless cameras.

question

I cost half of the Samyang! Is it as good, or markedly inferior?
Asked by: Yves S.
I use this on an Oly M10 mk2 with 5 axis stabilization. Fantastic value. Best of the mirror lenses I could find. Focus is hard hand held,. Requires practice. On tripod is much easier.

question

How is this lens for macro? I understand it won't be as sharp as the Olympus 60mm Macro but by how much? I've been looking for a macro with an extended working distance for getting at those more dangerous specimen.
Asked by: Proper N.
Pretty good sharpness for a mirror lens VERY narrow DOF Id not buy it just for Macro but it is a fun in the field lens.

question

Is this compatible using all features with the Olympus pl6 MFT? Also if I understand previous Q&A using manual focus is the only way to go-correct
Asked by: Robert C.
manual focus only, using the focus zooming viewfinder function - not a free hand holding lens for this reason - a tripod is a must IMHO. Is worth the money, though. on my epl-7

question

Is this lenses all manual (focus and iris)? Can it be used with BlackMagic 2.5k mount MFT?
Asked by: Anonymous
The BlackMagic Cinema MFT mount camera requires use of manual focus and manually adjustable aperture lenses. The Tokina 300mm f/6.3 Reflex Telephoto Macro Lens for MFT Mount will mount on the camera but will not allow you to adjust the aperture of the lens as this lens has a fixed aperture of f6.3. The benefit of the camera using the MFT mount is the availability of adapters which will allow one to mount various manual focus/manual aperture lenses to the camera.
