Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Reviews
versatile little pancake

bought this to replace the 16-50 f3.5-5.6 kit lens for my partner's Canon M6 Mark II. looks very good on the camera, made the thing look like a point-and-shoot, f2 is sufficient for almost all conditions and lighting and although i wish it could be a bit wider in angle, i can take 35mm equivalent. if you have an APSC and want something just for the daily, get this one.
AF too slow

You cannot use this lens much, because AF is beyond any common sense slow.

How does it work for video? Without IS, does it work well for video? 18-150 is a bit heavy/poorly balances on the gimbal.
If you used this lens on the Canon EOS M50 which has 5 axis stabilization, then this would alleviate the need for stabilization in the lens. If using it on an EOS M camera without stabilization for video, then using a hand held gimbal is the best way to add stability.

is this lens good for pictures of the night sky?
is this lens good for pictures of the night sky?
My opinion is this: fast enough for astrophotography but not wide enough. I would choose the Sigma 16mm over this for Milky Way, aurora, ect. photography.

does this lens work with the canon r5, if used with the adaptor? Or would it cause vignette?
The Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens is not compatible with the Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera as there is no adapter to mount an EF-M mount lens on a Canon EOS R series camera.

i appreciate that hte bokeh is appreciated, but i am looking for crisp images thru an expanded distance(f/i running children against a far hedge? Any feedback on this would be appreciated!
On a Canon Em mount APS-C camera, 22mm has the wide perspective of 53°. As you may know, the wider the lens, more DOF or Depth of Field (the area in focus) is created. The more you stop down ((increased the lens aperture number from f/2 to say, f/16, you will make the lens a universal, everything in focus lens. You will have no trouble keeping your kids in focus on a bright sunny day. In twilight, you will have to refocus.

Not all Canon lenses enable DPAF Movie Servo AF. Is this lens compatible with Movie Servo AF?
The EF 50mm f/1.8 STM and the EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM are not compatible. It seems like only the STM zooms are compatible, and a few L Series lenses.
