The Nikon Full-Size Premium Tripod with Easy-Tilt Head is a lightweight camera support with features normally found in higher priced tripods. Minimum height with the legs in normal position is 23" but you can reverse the sliding center column and go as low as 3.5". Uneven terrain is no problem either; leg spreading capability allows you to splay the legs for support in unusual situations.

The Premium Tripod has 3 leg sections that rise to a height of 49" before extending the center column and 60" with it extended. The tripod is supplied with a pan and tilt head with a 6.0" ergonomic tilt handle and a quick release (including plate) for fast setup. There's a bubble level on the head's tilting stage as well as 2 more on the tripod leg collar. There is even a built-in compass. The premium tripod folds down quickly via its flip locks to only 28".

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very light duty and poor build quality. I've been a photographer for 30 years and have had many tripods. I find this one to be a huge disappointment for the following two reasons. 1) The tripod head binds so much that it rotates the center column, rather than spinning on its own pan axis, making tracking movements very hard to pull off smoothly. I could remove the set knob for panning tension completely and it doesn't reduce the friction. Making matters worse, since the center column rotates, it also drops in elevation with each pan action, forcing the user to constantly loosen the center column, raise it and tighten it again and again. The tilt action binds as well but not enough to limit or impair movement. 2) The upper tripod leg clamps are not tight enough to allow them to lock in the legs firmly in place and there is no adjustment to tighten the tension applied. Since this tripod is very light, you need to hang a bit of weight on the hook provided to do so but this or leaning on the tripod causes the legs to shorten. Given the serious shortcomings of this tripod, I've replaced the head with an aftermarket unit and regulated this one to use around the home with my lighter, less expensive cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted I have not been shopping for a tripod that long but this one is amazing. It has a number of levels so that when you take a picture you will have everything on the correct plain. It is also extremely sturdy as well as pretty light weight. Best impulse buy to date.
