Fraser Optics MARS-IR overview

  • 1Description

The MARS Multi-Purpose Reflex Sight from Fraser Optics combines an infrared aiming laser and unmagnified sight into one multi-purpose targeting instrument. The solid prism reflex sight features a 0.3mRad red dot and four manually adjustable brightness settings. The infrared aiming laser is visible only with night vision, delivers a 0.5mRad aiming point on targets, and is conveniently activated by an integrated pressure pad switch. This configuration of the Multi-Purpose Aiming Reflex Sight (MARS) is well-suited for close to mid-range engagements.

    Fraser Optics MARS-IR reviews

MARS Multi-Purpose Reflex Sight (Infrared) is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from J.U.N.K If I could have gave it no stars I would have done so. Spend (at time I bought mine over 1200) and worked fine for about 100 rounds on an AR15 carbine 16 in barrel so nothing severe at all. After 100 rounds or maybe even a few less it would turn off with every shot from recoil. Sometimes you could hit the stock on the ground to get the light back on other times you would have to pull battery and put back in (usually took the later). The whole sight would shut down from single recoil not dot no laser. Then good luck trying to find someone to fix it, I looked for over a year to find any dealer to fix but since it is made in Israel or at least first models maybe all? No one could help me they had no idea what I could do with it. Finally I found a shop that is a gun shop and a gun shop who said they would take a look at it, well that was horrid as due to the waterproofing and other assembly things they tore it up so bad they broke the lens over the laser and just destroed it (but there was no other option so figured let it sit broke or take the chance, took the chance and now looks as it went threw an explosion). Only could take the quick release levers off and use on a couple flashlight holders to make them quick release. Also the cord for the laser is only about 6 to 7 inches so is hard to get the button in an easy place to use it as it puts the button so close to the sight. Also the velcro strip that comes with it to strap the button /cord to weapon broke very easy also. Comes with a nice case to protect it but once out that box (at least mine) they are weak and ripe for breaking. One more little side note they are a little on the rattling side as they auto on sensor uses what sounds like a small rod or ball in a tube that slides back and forth so once it times off and the rifle is grabbed it will turn on due to that sensor but it makes a bit of noise.
