Senal SMH-PC10 reviews

Coiled Replacement Cable for SMH-1000 & 1200 Headphones - 4 to 10' (1.2 - 3 m) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from second replacement, quit working within a few shoots This is the first time in my career that I have written a negative review. I own the Senal Headphones and like their sound and value over similar Sony headphones. The headphones come with 2 cables, this coiled cable and a very short straight cable. This coiled replacement to my original cable (which did not last long) failed super quick. I have been in the production biz for 30 years and treat my equipment well. I have never had a headphone or headphone cable of this price fail so quickly. I want to like the Senal line, but this has soured me on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy these headphones. This cable is a replacement for a decent set of headphones with replacement parts. The great staff at B&H recommended these for someone like me who usually beats up gear in the field. When it was time to replace the cable, I was able to buy it on their site quickly and of course I had it in 2 days, NY to Philly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely replacement cable Saved my bacon! I messed up my headphone plug on a recent trip. For most headphones, that would be it, except to reach for a soldering gun, which I have never been comfortable with. With the Senal SMH-1000 phones (which are dandy, by the way), I just had to order another cable, and voila, good as new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement...yep. Needed a replacement cable after snapping off one end. Fast, works, and now I'll be a little more careful! I like the cable, the coils, allows for flexibility when moving around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I HAVE purchased this product again. In fact the principal reason I own Senal headphones is precisely because the cord can be replaced so easily, and that is a whole lot cheaper than having to replace an entire pair of headphones as a result of inevitable tugging on the cable over time, or all at once right after you step on it when you forgot you were wearing them and got up to get another cocktail. As owner of probably 20 pairs of more or less expensive headphones, I can testify to how often most other brands require replacing the entire set of phones because the cable is hardwired to one (usually the left) of the phones. Cable failure is what causes headphones to become useless no matter how well they work otherwise. So being able to replace only the cable without having to toss out the entire pair due simply to a loose connection where the cable meets (usually) just one of the phones is my idea of practical and reasonable. I'm pretty sure that companies like Sony make the cables a permanent fixture, as opposed to a replaceable part, exactly so that customers will be forced to lay out a whole lotta dough for a new pair. That's a lot more profitable. Almost all of those 20 pairs I've owned over the years became unusable when the cable got yanked or stepped on one too many times, and not many times were ever required to render headphones into ritzy earmuffs. First get the headphones, and though maybe not THE very best in terms of sound, they certainly are in terms of practical design and application. (If you can afford the very best, then you can afford to have two or three pairs on hand at all times. But if you're not Warren Buffett..) order an extra cable at the same time, just to have it available when (not IF, but WHEN) the cable has just transmitted it's last note. That way daddyo, you can continue to enjoy listening to Charlie, Miles and/or Trane on KJZZ without missing more than a beat or two. Dig it?
