I got a pair of these to be able to a run Teradek Bolt 500 on a monopod with my camera - and it's absolutely perfect for that. I can run all day on this thing!

My camera would barely run 20-30 minutes, but this battery has lasted me three events in one day, and still half a battery to spare!! Best purchase ever! I mount to the top of my camera.

I have had two PB70 Pro-X now for about 5 years and they still work. Granted I dont use them every day but I dropped one and busted it open years ago. I managed to piece it back together and tape it closed, it still works even the LED charge lights. My second one was never damaged but the LED charge lights on that one quite years ago although the battery still works fine. I used to use them on a 5D shoulder rig w/rails but now I just use them on portable LED lighting. I would buy more if I could find a good deal on a dual charger station.

Yes, this is the Switronix Powerbase 70.

I had one of these batteries back when the company was still Switronix. I used it for my BMCC. The battery had lost it's charge capacity after much time and use, so I bought another. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE ADAPTER FOR YOUR CAMERA FOR THIS BATTERY, IT WILL WORK WITH THIS. NO NEED TO BUY THE ONE WITH THE ADAPTER AGAIN.

I have been using one for the last 4 years, great battery, no problems, v-mount but with mounting points, great for any rig. Last longer than the smaller newer model.

The power to do it all!

I have had two of these for nearly 6 years and they are still going strong! I use them to power my Digital Bolex or, more often, a LED panel light for wedding work. It powers the light at full power for about 3.5 hours. The construction is nice and rugged and I love the built in 1/4-20 plate thingy on one side. I use that plate to secure the batteries to my camera rig. You can also use the v-mount side as well. That's what I call versatility! As far as weight, I would say that they are a tiny bit lighter than most v-mount batteries I've held over the years. I have found that the d-tap port on the side of the battery is VERY snug and difficult, but at this point, after years, It's worn away and fine.

question

Is there a longer cable than the 12 ? I was going to put the battery plate on my shoulder mount and i don't think it will reach from the camera to that.
Asked by: Joe G.
Yes there is. Switronix makes an extension cable for this battery. We even have the Blackmagic Camera Powerbase DLX Kit which includes the battery, charger and the 24 Extension Cable. You can also purchase the extension cable separately.

question

will this work on JVC GY-HM200 4KCAM?
Asked by: katerina o.
Sorry, the JVC GY-HM200 has a different pin configuration and cannot be used with this. A search of B&H and the web returned no large battery solutions for the GY-HM200. At this point I would suggest contacting a video camera rental house and see if one of their technicians can design a set up for you.

Can you be plugged into the camera and to direct power at the same time?
Asked by: Chamika
No. Recommended practices for this device are to connect it to AC to charge the battery OR connect it to the camera to power that. To power camera directly from an AC power source, an AC power adapter for that particular camera is required.
