How do I adjust the tilt friction on my SLIK ...

How do I adjust the tilt friction on my SLIK 700DX? I use a Nikon 700 with the heavy 70-200 lens. The overall weight does not allow me to position the camera beyond straight and level. If I tilt the camera it just keeps going when I take my hand off. (Yes, I am a novice but still need the help. Thanks)
Asked by: Rick
There is no friction control on this tripod. It's either tight or loose. If the head is slipping after tightening, then the head may need an adjustment from Slik. You can however remove the head and substitute it for a more sturdy head.

question

Hi! Will there be flexing/bending if the tripod is at the lowest height (max angle setting) and the legs fully extended?
Asked by: Anonymous
As long as you are within the weight capacity (19lbs) no, it will not give any flex/bending when at the lowest height with the legs fully extended.

question

Hi, What is the difference between this product and this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/131427-REG/Slik_615_315_Pro_700DX_Tripod_with.html Is the load capacity really 19.8 lbs? Would the same model available without the pan-head? Does the tripod have international warranty?
Asked by: Anonymous
The DX is silver while the DXQ is black. The specs otherwise are identical. I verified this at their website comparing one against the other. If you view the manuals in their support page both point to the DX file.

question

Can you elaborate about the pan head? Also can I replace the pan-head with a ball head for this tripod? I would also like to know if this tripod model's legs are the same as http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/557127-REG/Slik_615_317_700DX_Pro_Tripod_Legs.html
Asked by: Anonymous
Here is the direct link to the head itself. Please see the following link:http://bhpho.to/1hJ65rDThe legs are the same as the Slik 615-317 and you can replace the head with any other brand or model tripod head that uses a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 thread mount.

How can I remove the head? I have read the instructions and tried everything. It just spins and spins but will not loosen or come off.
Asked by: Erica
What happens often is that the head is not tighten down. So, it will just spin and spin while you try to unscrew the head. Make sure all of the knobs on the head are tight and then try to unscrew the head from the legs.
