Also fits 600mm f4 ii perfectly even with lens hood reversed

Originally bought for the 500mm f4 ii I'm very happy with this item. It's super solid and gives the lens a nice low profile without getting in the way of the lens hood when packed away, even on the 600mm f4 ii which I'm very pleased about having just moved on to that. It's so well balanced it makes you wonder why Canon's are the way they are.

Well made!

This is a replacement for the bulky foot on my Canon 500mm II. It saves having the stock foot with a tripod adapter attached to the lens. I have Kirk gear for my 300mm 2.8 and love their flash brackets. I drilled a hole at the front of this foot to also hold a Kirk flash bracket. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

works great and just one more piece of equipment i do not have to take out into the field. my old attachment that i would put on the bottom foot plate always would work lose after a period of time, this does not. the kits goes with everything you need. it also has both large and small tripod holes predrilled. i get a good snug fit on my sirui gimbal head.

Very Happy

Provides perfect balance for Canon 500mm f4 II lens with Canon 7D II with battery grip and 1.4X extender. Also the black color helps in reducing visibility as compared to the big white Canon foot.

question

will it balance on tripod when using 1dx,500mmf4II and 2X extender?
Asked by: Tom
Yes it will provide better balance than the original foot included with the Canon 500mm f/4 IS II. You may need to adjust its position on the tripod for the best balance by sliding it forward or backward on the tripod head before locking it in place.

question

Would this foot fit the Canon 400MM DO IS II, if so will the hood still fit in the stored position?
Asked by: Pius
I used it on my 500mm lens and it works perfect, the hood still fits in the stored position. Can't tell you about the 400mm as I don't have one, they make ones for the 400 if you look on the JOBU Design Website.

question

Is this foot long enough to balance a Canon 7D Mark II and a 500mm F4L II with either the Canon 2.x or 1.4 extenders when using a Wimberly WH-200 II gimbal tripod head?
Asked by: Eric J.
I suspect so. I have a 500mm F4L II, 2x and 1.4x Canon series III t/c's but the heavier 5D MkIII and the multiple notches under the main mounting post are what I use to align the foot location to achieve the balance point for the different equipment.
