The Canon KJ22ex7.6B ITS-ME 2/3" ENG/EFP Lens is a 2/3" HDTV zoom lens from Canon's HDgc family of lenses. The lens is intended for the HD News gathering, reality show and lower budget HD production markets. With a 22 x zoom ratio, this lens has a focal length range of 7.6 to 168mm, or 15.2 to 336mm when using the built-in 2x extender. The KJ22ex7.6B exhibits less noticeable focus breathing than its predecessor, making focus adjustments less noticeable. Canon's fourth generation digital servo system utilizes 16-bit rotary encoders to ensure zoom, iris and focus pulls are precisely repeatable. Canon's Shuttle Shot allows the lens to memorize two lens positions and quickly shuttle between them. The digital servo also allows you to adjust the zoom speed from between 0.5 seconds to 5 minutes to go from wide to telephoto.
The KJ22ex7.6B incorporates aspheric lens elements, multilayer optical coatings, Fluorite and Hi-UD glass into the lens design for improved: contrast, image geometry, corner sharpness, contrast and sharpness. Internal focusing elements ensure the lens volume remains constant throughout the zoom and focus range. The lens housing utilizes a magnesium alloy body to allow the lens to be both lightweight and durable. Focus and zoom controls are designed to fit ergonomically with the camera operator, improving comfort during hand held operation.
